About Us
Point One Navigation is building the future of precise location. Our mission is to deliver a unified location platform that enables autonomy, safety, and operational superiority across industries — and increasingly, across mission-critical defense environments.
Our technology powers autonomous systems and physical AI with resilient, high-accuracy Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) in environments where traditional GPS alone is insufficient. We are a high-performance, high-collaboration team that thrives on solving complex problems, moving fast, and delivering measurable impact.
Role Outcome
We are looking for a Defense Field Application Engineer (FAE) to support technical adoption and mission success of our GNSS/PNT platform across U.S. military and government programs.
As a Defense FAE, you will serve as the technical lead in support of defense sales pursuits and customer programs. You will architect mission-aligned PNT solutions, guide system integrations, support evaluations and demonstrations, and cultivate technical champions within program offices, primes, and integrators.
Success in this role means:
Owning technical wins across defense pursuits and programs
Driving successful PoCs, evaluations, and prototype integrations
Building deep technical trust with government engineers and program managers
Translating mission requirements into actionable product feedback
You will work with defense customers across land, air, maritime, and autonomous platforms. From capture support to onsite test events to post-award integration, you will be instrumental in ensuring Point One technology performs in real-world mission environments.
Immediate Areas of Focus
Pre-Sales Technical Engagement & Capture Support
Partner closely with the Defense Sales Director to support capture strategy and opportunity shaping
Conduct technical discovery conversations with military engineers and program stakeholders
Deliver technical presentations, mission-aligned demos, and onsite proof-of-concepts (PoCs)
Support RFI/RFP responses with technical narratives, architectures, and evaluation criteria
Develop tailored defense reference architectures and integration guides
Solution Architecture & System Design
-
Lead customers through architecture reviews and deployment planning across:
GNSS corrections
Sensor fusion and PNT filtering
INS integration
RF environments and degraded GPS conditions
Design scalable integration strategies for embedded systems, autonomy stacks, and edge deployments
Assist with system integration checkpoints, test plans, and validation criteria for government evaluations
Support prototype integrations under OTAs, SBIRs, and pilot programs
Post-Award Technical Enablement & Mission Success
Support integration, onboarding, and field deployment of Point One solutions within defense programs
Provide hands-on debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigation in complex environments
Act as the technical liaison between defense customers and internal Engineering
Ensure successful long-term product usage and contribute to technical success planning
Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration
Work closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Executive Leadership to align technical strategy with market demand
Bring structured field feedback to influence roadmap priorities for defense use cases
Contribute to reusable demo environments, integration assets, training materials, and technical documentation
Serve as a bridge between customer mission needs and the global engineering organization
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Systems, Aerospace, Computer Science, or related field)
5+ years in a customer-facing engineering role, preferably supporting defense or federal customers
3+ years working in GNSS, GPS, INS, PNT filtering, RF systems, or navigation technologies
Strong systems-level understanding of embedded systems, autonomy stacks, and real-time positioning
Experience debugging complex hardware/software integrations
Excellent communication skills — able to influence both technical engineers and program leadership
Ability to travel regularly to military bases, test ranges, and integration sites
Preferred
Experience working with DoD customers (Army, Air Force, Navy, DoD labs)
Active security clearance or ability to obtain one
-
Experience operating in GPS-denied or contested RF environments
Our Cultural Foundation
At Point One, our cultural and operating design is built around one guiding principle: we must move with extreme speed and efficiency of effort to stay in a leadership position.
This environment gives people high autonomy and the ability to create real impact. It also challenges every team member to grow — professionally and personally. Because we prioritize promoting from within, the opportunities for advancement are tremendous for those who deliver.
Growth comes from execution. What matters most is the job to be done today, not the job you want tomorrow. When we focus on outcomes with excellence, increased responsibility follows.
How We Show Up Every Day
Trust / Assume Best Intent. Trust allows us to move fast. We start from trust so we can focus our energy on execution.
High Output, Action Oriented. Our default posture is “yes.” We bias toward action and deliver results quickly.
Divine Discontent. We constantly seek improvement and shorten learning cycles through feedback.
No Ego, One Team. Collaboration without ego creates leverage.
Self Accountability. Ownership is the fastest path to growth and trust.
Operating Principles
Edge Innovation. We bias toward action over approval. Experiment, decide, and move.
No Hierarchies. We go direct to the source. Fewer layers mean more speed.
Customer Experience First. We optimize for mission outcomes, not internal convenience.
If this role sounds like a fit, we’d love to hear from you. Apply below and join us in shaping the future of precise location.
