Role: Solutions Engineer (APAC)

Role Description:
The Solution Engineer is a key role in conducting technical examinations based on customer and internal HSI and remote sensing requirements. This includes imagery collection, solution architecture, and solution development based on customer mission parameters. The SEA will apply technical skills, scientific methodology, and solid subject matter expertise, to design and articulate approaches in proposals, white papers, and technology exchange meetings. The SE will execute end to end deliveries for business opportunities

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging presentations and product demos to highlight Pixxel’s technical capabilities, showcasing how hyperspectral imagery aligns with customer use cases and business needs.

  • Build trusted relationships with customer technical teams, acting as a bridge between their requirements and Pixxel's solutions.

  • Develop tailored solutions for customer use cases within their technical and operational frameworks.

  • Write detailed and compelling responses to RFPs, tenders, and technical proposals, effectively communicating Pixxel’s value proposition.

  • Conduct imagery capture feasibility assessments, including evaluating large AOIs, manipulating vector files, and advising on optimal HSI order configurations.

  • Collaborate with the Sales team to craft account strategies and implement tactics for engaging both existing customers and new prospects.

  • Serve as a liaison between customers and internal teams, including Mission and Operations, Analytics, Product, and Customer Success, to ensure their needs are well-represented.

  • Stay proactive in learning about emerging geospatial technologies and industry trends, contributing to the evolution of Pixxel’s solutions.

  • Work closely with global Solutions Engineering peers to enhance team capabilities and share best practices.

  • Support the development of Pixxel’s internal tools, demo content, and knowledge repository to accelerate end-user adoption and internal team readiness.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Strong geospatial and remote sensing skills 5+ years of professional experience working within Earth Observation data providers with end users.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficient in geospatial software such as QGIS, ArcGIS, ENVI, Google Earth Engine, and GDAL.

    • Knowledge of hyperspectral imagery and its applications across customer industries.

    • Strong ability to manipulate and analyze raster and vector data for feasibility assessments, demonstrations, and new hyperspectral use cases.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.

  • Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to coordinate effectively with international customers and cross-functional teams. Must be comfortable working with globally distributed teams across the Americas, Europe, India, and other APAC time zones.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving challenges.

  • Education: Degree in GIS, Remote Sensing, Earth Science, Geography, or a related field.

  • Travel: Willingness to travel to customers and industry events within APAC and occasional travel to other global regions for Pixxel events.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Python for geospatial data manipulation and API integration.

  • Experience in presales roles, particularly developing technical solutions and customer proposals.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead customer engagements, provide customer white-glove support, and deliver exceptional service.

  • Experience conducting image capture feasibility assessments, including managing large AOIs and advising on HSI configurations.

  • Proven ability to deliver technical demonstrations and presentations to customers and end-users.

  • Familiarity with regional geospatial ecosystems, including government agencies, EO funding programs, and industry players in APAC.

  • Experience using EO cloud platforms (i.e. Sentinel Hub, Google Earth Engine, Earthdata)

  • Education: A graduate degree in Remote Sensing, Geography, Geoscience, or a related field.

  • Multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply; proficiency in English is required, with preference for additional languages such as Japanese, Mandarin, or Korean.
