We are looking for a Plant Manager in Barcelona:
About the role:
As Plant Manager, you will be fully responsible for the operational performance, safety, and continuous improvement of the workshop and production facilities. You will act as the bridge between engineering, manufacturing, AIT, quality, supply chain, and test, ensuring execution excellence from prototype to industrialization.
This role will also be a key enabler in the ramp‑up and operational start‑up of the new production plant, defining and deploying the necessary industrial capabilities, processes, and workflows to support the company’s growth.
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Plant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our workshop in Barcelona. The role is primarily focused on assembly and integration activities, with additional responsibility for industrialization support to manufacturing. Also coordinate test activities with the test department.
The Plant Manager plays a key role in ensuring operational excellence, safety, quality and scalability as the company grows.
Key Responsibilities
Workshop & Plant Operations
Oversee day-to-day workshop operations, including manufacturing, assembly, integration and test activities.
Lead the operational ramp‑up of the new production plant, ensuring readiness of infrastructure, equipment, people, and processes.

Manufacturing & Industrial Capabilities

Deploy and manage industrial capabilities including:
Metal additive manufacturing, in coordination with the manufacturing team.
Welding processes
Metrology
Assembly operations
Drive standardization of work instructions, routings, and shop‑floor processes to support both prototype and industrial production phases.
Support industrialization activities in coordination with Engineering and Supply Chain.
Manage cleanroom capacities, ensuring operational readiness and compliance with associated processes and procedures.
Supply, Deliveries & Logistics
Manage workshop‑level procurement and supply in coordination with Supply Chain (tools, consumables, parts).
Oversee deliveries and receptions: quantities, conformity, traceability, and storage.
Anticipate material needs to avoid production disruptions and support project timelines.
Team Leadership
Manage, guide, and develop workshop teams (technicians / operators).
Set clear objectives, organize work, and ensure skills development and autonomy.
Foster a strong culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Safety, Labour Risk Prevention & Compliance
Ensure full compliance with labour risk prevention, health & safety regulations, and internal procedures.
Identify operational risks and implement preventive and corrective actions.
Act as the main point of contact for workshop safety topics (risk assessments, safety rules, training awareness).
Promote a strong safety culture in day‑to‑day operations.
Industrial Performance & Continuous Improvement
Define and track key operational KPIs (safety, quality, delivery, cost).
Drive continuous improvement initiatives (processes, layout, tools, documentation).
Support industrialization and scaling of production activities in collaboration with engineering and quality teams.
Cross‑functional Collaboration
Work closely with Engineering, AIT, Supply Chain, Quality, and Project Manager teams.
Anticipate operational constraints and propose pragmatic solutions.
Act as the operational reference for workshop‑related topics.
What you need to be successful:
7+ years of experience in industrial / manufacturing environments (aerospace, automotive, high‑tech, or similar).
Proven experience managing a workshop or production facility.
Strong leadership skills and hands‑on operational mindset.
Solid understanding of manufacturing, assembly, and test environments.
Used to working in fast‑moving, evolving organizations (scale‑up or project‑driven context).
Fluent in English; Spanish is a strong plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to combine operational rigor with pragmatic decision‑making.
Strong ownership and accountability for delivery and safety.
Comfortable structuring processes while remaining flexible.
Natural leadership and clear communication with teams and stakeholders.
