We are looking for a Procurement Buyer Intern in Barcelona

About the role:

We are seeking a Procurement Buyer Intern to join our team in Barcelona. The successful candidate will leverage procurement and contract management activities that enable our space missions. This internship is designed as a first step into a long-term role, offering hands-on exposure to supplier management, RFQ processes, and contract execution within a highly technical and regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in sourcing suppliers and evaluating bids for aerospace components and services.

  • Experience with RFQ processes.

  • Support contract drafting, negotiation, and administration under guidance of senior managers.

  • Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and compliance with contractual obligations.

  • Maintain accurate procurement records and contract documentation.

  • Collaborate with engineering, finance, and project management teams to align procurement with mission timelines.

  • Contribute to risk assessments and mitigation strategies in supply chain and contract execution.

What you need to be successful:

Educational background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or final-year student) in: Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or equivalent.

  • An interest in industrial, technical, or engineering-driven environments is highly valued.

Technical & functional skills

  • Good understanding of procurement and supply chain fundamentals (sourcing, purchasing cycle, supplier management).

  • Ability to understand and work with technical requirements in collaboration with engineering teams.

  • Comfortable with data analysis and reporting (costs, delivery tracking, supplier performance).

  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel (basic formulas, data organization).

  • Familiarity with ERP systems or procurement tools is a plus, but not mandatory.

  • Basic understanding of contracts, Incoterms, or supplier agreements is a plus.

Languages

  • Fluent in English (working language).

  • Spanish and/or French is a plus.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills: able to manage multiple tasks, follow up with suppliers, and keep information structured and up to date.

  • Analytical mindset: comfortable working with numbers, identifying inconsistencies, and supporting decision-making with data.

  • Clear and proactive communication: able to interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders (engineering, finance, project teams).

  • Curiosity and willingness to learn: motivated to understand technical products, processes, and constraints in the space industry.

  • Adaptability: comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving priorities.

  • Team-oriented mindset: enjoys working closely with cross-functional and multicultural teams.

Other useful skills:

  • First exposure to industrial or manufacturing environments (internship, project, student job).

  • Basic knowledge of: Cost breakdowns (BOM, should-cost, supplier quotes), Supply chain risk management, Quality or compliance concepts in regulated industries.

  • Previous experience in a startup, scale-up, or project-based environment.
