The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing team. This role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations, including bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable processing, and assisting with monthly close activities and audits. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, accuracy, and organizational skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare journal entries for review/approval.
  • Reconcile general ledger and subledger accounts monthly.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities. A/P: Monitor and help process vendor purchase orders, invoices and employee expense reports.
  • A/R: Support collections, customer billing and posting payments, including revenue recognition tracking and DSO calculation
  • Experience with ERP software (e.g., QuickBooks Advanced, BILL, Brex) to process transactions, generate reports and analytics.
  • Ensure adherence and improvements to internal controls, accounting policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as needed.

Additional Skills Or Expertise (a Plus, But Not Required)

  • Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or government contracting industries or big 4’s in relevant sectors.
  • ERP use and implementation experience preferable with SAP, Oracle or NetSuite.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • CPA Certification a plus.
  • 2–4 years of accounting experience (preferably in a corporate or startup environment).
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated self-starter who works well collaboratively and independently.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $75,000 - $95,000, Salary may vary with experience
