At Orca AI, we are on a mission to make shipping companies rethink the way they operate and empower their crews with AI and automation for a safer and more efficient maritime industry. We are seeking a talented Anatlytics Engineer to join our Data Team.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the design and architecture of innovative data systems from scratch to production in order to support Orca’s analytics initiatives.
• Leverage innovative and modern data platforms to manage, transform, and process data for data analysis, ML and AI models, supporting real-time and batch-processing workflows.
• Work with cross-functional teams to implement data solutions that support model training, monitoring, and production deployment.
• Design, develop and maintain ETL workflows for maritime data sources.
• Develop backend services that perform data transformations to standardize data and prepare it for production level

Requirements and Skills:

• 5+ years’ experience as a data engineer / BI developer or a similar role.
• Hands-on experience working with large DWH / data analytics structures and developing pipelines in a BigData environment.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.
• Excellent knowledge of SQL with advanced analytics data orientation.
• Proficient with Python programming and OOP concepts.
• Experience in breaking down complex business problems into clear, implementable technical specifications
• Experience in designing and implementing decision engines that can:
• Process multiple input parameters
• Apply complex conditional logic
• Generate consistent and predictable outputs
• Excellent understanding of data and schema standards and concepts.
• Experience in a Cloud Native environment, such as AWS – an advantage.
• Experience with Snowflake – an advantage.
