At Orca AI, we are on a mission to make shipping companies rethink the way they operate and empower their crews with AI and automation for a safer and more efficient maritime industry. We are seeking a talented Data Engineer to join our Data Team.

What you’ll do:

• Design & Develop Big data pipelines, facing low latency, semi-structured data, extracted and loaded at scale.
• Use software engineering best practices including coding patterns, full git ci\cd flows, unit and automation tests.
• Use various cloud services (aws) to promote robust and innovative big data processing solutions.
• Be a pivotal part in a fast moving, professional big data team.
• Work closely with Product, R&D, Operations, and Business teams to ensure seamless integration of Data solutions.

What you’ll need:

• BSc in Computer Science or an equivalent background.
• 5+ years of prior experience as a Data Engineer Proficient in:
• Python
• SQL
• ci\cd
• Cloud based data solutions (aws or similar)
• Team player.
• Problem solver,
• Ability to thrive in a fast moving, innovative, Startup work environment.

Big advantage if experienced with:

• Big-data cloud pipelines (Volume, Velocity, Variety).
• Managing a big-data platform (like Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery etc.).
• Start Up culture.
