We are seeking an experienced, self-driven Project Manager to lead high-impact technical and business initiatives from concept through production launch. This role drives operational excellence, ensures stakeholder alignment, and owns end-to-end project execution across cost, quality, and schedule.

The Project Manager leads cross-functional teams across Product, Hardware, Firmware, Software, Operations, Manufacturing, Technical Publications, and Marketing, delivering disciplined planning and execution while proactively managing scope, risk, and dependencies through clear communication, tracking, and phase-gate reviews.

This role also supports continuous improvement of product development processes by enhancing project management tools, methodologies, and documentation to enable scalable, repeatable execution.

This role is based out of our Ottawa, Ontario office. We operate in a hybrid work environment, requiring a minimum of three (3) days per week onsite at our Kanata office, with the option to work remotely for up to two (2) days per week.

What You’ll Do

  • Leadership to manage multiple projects while meeting goals for cost, quality and delivery.
  • Interfaces with product management and cross-functional representatives to ensure robust requirements and design specifications in step with overall project needs.
  • Conducts planning with functional managers and project team to breaking down work and determine tasks, durations, dependencies, key milestones, deliverables, budget and risks. Project schedule is created based on project plan.
  • Creates schedule including activities, milestones, keydeliverablesand resources.
  • Efficiently manage and communicate milestones to stakeholders throughout the project.
  • Understands, drives and monitors development activities and deliverables across functional areas, and with external organizations, ensuring timely execution against plan.
  • Manages contracts, requirements and specifications with external partners/collaborators.
  • Ensures key project engineering documentation (functional/design specs etc.) are generated and maintained throughout development.
  • Conducts status meetings andmaintains, action and risk registers. Facilitates technical reviews with project team and holds gate review meetings with key stakeholders.
  • Leads cross-functional teams in the identification, assessment and management of project risk, development of mitigation plans and their execution.
  • Assesses changes in development scope to determine impacts to project.
  • Tracks project activity to ensure execution within budget, schedule and scope.
  • Reports project progress regarding scope, schedule and budget, deliverables/documentation and approval of changes to scope, timeline or cost.
  • Supports the development, maintenance and ongoing improvement of efficient and effective product development process, project management tools and techniques, and related documents. Ensure that team members understand and adhere to project requirements, providing assistance and training as needed.

Who You Are

You’re a strategic thinker with a knack for operational excellence, ready to tackle multiple priorities with agility and grace.

  • Collegediploma/University degree (Technical/Engineering) with coursework or certification in project management
  • 5+ years of experience in project management with a proventrack recordof independently leading technical and cross-functional projects.
  • 3+ years product development project management experience including interaction with project teams including remote members and cross-functional managers.
  • Ability to work on concurrent projects with diverse scope and teams of varying size.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, prioritize and organize work to meet deadlines
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of project management processes,workflowand terminology
  • Demonstratesproficiencywith project management tools and methods.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project. Familiar with SharePoint and Office 365 tools
  • Displays solid written and verbal communication and presentationskills, andcommunicates effectively with team members and next level leaders.
  • Team work, collaboration andresults-oriented. Develops excellent working relationships with the project team and provides responsive support to their needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work withdifferent typesof personalities.
  • Occasional travelrequired
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools and automation to support daily tasks and productivity.
  • Commitment to continuous learning in digital and AI literacy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master, Agile).
  • 7+ years of experience in project or program management, technical delivery, or product development.
  • Hands-on experience with IoT projects or platform-based ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated success in change management andestablishingPM best practices within engineering-driven organizations.
  • Data-driven decision maker, with a mindset focused on continuous learning and process improvement.
  • Able tomaintainclarity and composure in high-pressure or ambiguous situations.
  • Passionate about delivering innovation, customer value, and cross-team collaboration.

The anticipated starting salary range for candidates expressing interest in this position is CAD $100,000 – 125,000. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as location, technical experience, skills, certifications, etc.
