A little bit about the role:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Representative based in the European region to spearhead the sales and business development efforts of ORBCOMM’s Heavy Industry product line. This role requires a proactive approach to identify, engage, and secure new business opportunities, as well as managing and expanding the existing customer base.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Hunt and Secure New Business: Aggressively approach and convert leads into customers, negotiating and closing deals to drive revenue growth.
  • Develop Business Opportunities: Identify and create new business opportunities in the EU region through market research, networking, and strategic outreach.
  • Strategic Sales Management: Oversee a regional customer base, collaborating closely with the Sales team and leadership to maximize sales performance.
  • Implement Sales Strategies: Develop and execute innovative sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets, including penetrating new markets and expanding existing ones.
  • Brand Advocacy: Champion the ORBCOMM brand in the EU market by participating in events and increasing brand awareness.
  • Product Portfolio Enhancement: Contribute to the improvement and certification of the telematics product services portfolio.
  • Competitive Analysis: Provide insightful analysis on ORBCOMM's market position compared to competitors.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty while seeking opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
  • Contract Negotiations: Lead contract negotiations with prospective clients, ensuring alignment with ORBCOMM’s business objectives.
  • Marketing and PR Campaigns: Coordinate and participate in marketing campaigns and public relations events to boost ORBCOMM's market presence.
  • Corporate Presentations and Training: Deliver compelling presentations and provide training to customers to enhance their understanding and usage of ORBCOMM products.
  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement improvement actions to optimize sales processes and outcomes.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in telecommunications, technology, information industries, or IoT solutions with a proven track record of success in sales and business development.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Sales Acumen: Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales targets in a dynamic and competitive environment.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of telecommunications, satellite technology, or information industries. Experience in Transport Management or ERP solutions is a plus.
  • Market Expertise: Knowledge of the Heavy Industry business including OEMs, Rental Houses and Construction companies.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required. Native or near-native proficiency in Portuguese, Spanish, and English is essential. Additional languages are a plus.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time.
  • Multicultural Competence: Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and with cross-functional teams.
  • Flexibility: Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Work Arrangement: Possibility for Home Office.
