A little bit about the role:

ORBCOMM is looking for a Director, Product Security that will focus on driving cyber design and develop resiliency practices, grow cyber architects with CSSLP certifications, drive the right threat analysis reviews, lead cyber architecture, pen test diligence working closely with IT organization and launch sign off post implementation. The ideal candidate will be a CSSLP certified Product Security Leader with experience working for an IoT company that adheres to standards like ISA 62443 and SOC 1 Type II. This role is pivotal to ensure that our products are secure by design and remain resilient against evolving cybersecurity threats. The Product Security Leader will play a crucial role in maintaining the trust of customers and partners by upholding high security standards.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) for IoT products.
• Ensure compliance with ISA 62443 standards for industrial automation and control systems security.
• Oversee the SOC 1 Type II audit process, ensuring all controls are in place and effective.
• Lead security risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for IoT devices and associated software.
• Design and implement security controls and countermeasures to protect IoT products from threats.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate security best practices into product design and development.
• Manage security incident response and remediation efforts.
• Provide security training and awareness programs for staff.
• Stay abreast of the latest security trends and technologies in the IoT space.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• CSSLP certification is mandatory.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Proven experience with ISA 62443 and SOC 1 Type II compliance.
• Strong knowledge of IoT security frameworks and best practices.
• Experience in managing security projects and leading cross-functional teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Effective communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency in security software tools and encryption technologies.
