Working in our Data Division

Our Data division transforms satellite data into meaningful insights that drive real-world impact. The team delivers all data products generated by Open Cosmos and its partners, curates and develops DataCosmos — our geospatial data platform — and builds integrations that make satellite imagery easy to access and act on.

As an Image Production Intern, you’ll work alongside geospatial engineers and Earth Observation specialists to support the production and delivery of satellite imagery used by customers around the world. You’ll gain hands-on experience across image processing, data preparation and quality control, building practical skills in EO data and geospatial technologies.

For the right person, this internship can be a pathway into a full-time role at Open Cosmos as we continue to grow our Data team.

What will you be doing?

• Processing optical satellite imagery using established production workflows

• Supporting image calibration, orthorectification, mosaicking and formatting processes

• Preparing and organising imagery and metadata for delivery through DataCosmos

• Monitoring production pipelines and supporting troubleshooting of processing issues

• Assisting with validation of image quality and product completeness

• Supporting improvements to image production workflows and automation

• Maintaining clear documentation of production processes and best practices

What You’ll bring

• Understanding of optical satellite imagery and Earth Observation data

• Familiarity with geospatial data formats and GIS tools (e.g. QGIS or ArcGIS)

• Knowledge of image processing techniques (e.g. radiometric or geometric corrections)

• Familiarity with Python or a similar scripting language

• Awareness of data pipelines or batch processing workflows

This role you can be based in any of our locations: UK | Spain | Portugal | Greece
