Job Overview – Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our Operations team at LEO GEO SOC Eutelsat and play a key role in ensuring the availability, performance, and scalability of our production and development systems. In this position, you’ll work closely with engineering and operational teams, automating processes, responding to incidents, and implementing robust monitoring and reliability practices.

You are a motivated engineer with a strong operational mindset, eager to improve reliability, automate manual tasks, and contribute to mission-critical infrastructure supporting satellite operations. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy solving complex technical challenges.
What You’ll Do:
• Monitor system health using dashboards and alerting systems, focusing on key reliability metrics.
• Participate in shift rotations during LEOP and Mission Recovery.
• Triage and respond to incidents, diagnose issues, and restore services quickly using established tools and procedures.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks using scripting languages (Python, Bash).
• Collaborate with development teams to deploy new features safely and reliably, supporting canary rollouts and feature flags.
• Conduct triage and blameless post-incident reviews, implementing preventive actions.
• Maintain and improve infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools (CDK, Terraform, Ansible).
• Develop and maintain documentation for systems, processes, and troubleshooting workflows.
• Follow Incident Management and Problem Management protocols.
• Build and maintain KPIs as well as monitoring and alerting architectures.
What You’ll Need:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years in a technical role (Systems Administration, DevOps, SRE, or similar).
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Go, Bash).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and Linux/Unix environments.
• Understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration concepts (Kubernetes).
• Experience working with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach.
Where You’ll Work:
London, UK. Work conditions include hybrid or on-site presence depending on operational needs for the LEO GEO SOC environment.
