The Role
We are looking for a Software Development Director to be part of our global engineering team.
The role exists within the International team that develops global services and solutions and is part of an ambitious new program building our future within software development agile methodologies.
What You’ll Do
Lead the management of global Engineering teams.
This role is accountable for all engineering requirements.
Ensuring issues and requests are dealt with in a timely manner through the management team.
Build positive and collaborative relationships globally with key stakeholders
Be ultimately responsible for the quality and metrics from all engineering leads and their teams.
Monitor and oversee daily activities of the delivery teams, removing impediments and providing guidance as needed.
Escalate to the VP Engineering as needed.
Review and Approve resource and workload allocations within the squads as needed to hit delivery requirements.
Analyze incoming business requests with senior mgmt, set delivery priorities and agree any schedule adjustments to meet timely delivery goals.
Report to the VP Engineering the engineering organizations productivity and output leveraging KPI frameworks across all squads
Nurture self organization, increase transparency and trust, help navigate disfunction and conflict, and motivation through autonomy, accountability and purpose.
Keeping performance and morale high under difficult and challenging circumstances
Understand legacy vs modern SDLC lifecycles so as to be able to adapt to both and implement strategies required by the global business.
Managing team dynamics and creating a culture of innovation while working across departmental and other boundaries
Helping to define a single development target organization.

Qualified in enterprise solutions, based on J2EE .Net/C# and PHP, familiar with domain driven design including microservices architecture
Qualified and experienced in delivery mechanisms, Agile methodologies and performance frameworks across global products.
Qualified in quality automation and performance frameworks across global products
Obsessed by CICD – Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery leveraging PaaS (Platform As A Service) as foundation layer
Experienced in managing legacy applications and modernization initiatives
Experienced in Public Cloud (Azure and AWS) and exposed to Docker/Kubernetes
Strong Program Management skills
Understanding of Software Product Management best practices
Experienced in management of teams with multiple skill sets
Experienced in global product deliveries and multi-lingual platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong leadership experience with a solid track record of developing and launching successful software solutions using agile methodologies
Collaborative team player that can also lead cross-functional teams to deliver solutions on time and above expectations and has managed operations over 200+ engineers
Strong creative problem-solving and analytical skills to identify opportunities and pain-points through research, data and customer insights to improve the customer experience and drive digital transformation.
Leading and driving Agile/Scrum Development methods
Comfortable to work with a high degree of independence and responsibility but also ensure teams are oriented with a positive and can-do attitude.
Take-charge attitude with strong business acumen, results orientation and decision-making skills
Excellent written and communication skills
