The Role
The Senior Manager for Collections and Cash Applications will oversee the collections and cash application functions within Solera. This role requires a strategic leader with extensive experience in financial operations, particularly in managing collections and cash application processes in a transformational environment. The successful candidate will drive change, improve efficiency, and ensure the integration of systems and processes across multiple acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead and mentor the collections and cash applications team, fostering a high-performance culture and continuous improvement mindset.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimize collections and cash application processes in alignment with Solera’s overall financial goals.
Process Improvement:
- Assess current collections and cash application processes, identifying areas for improvement and standardization across acquired entities.
- Design and implement best practices for collections and cash applications to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Integration Management:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of financial systems and processes from various acquisitions.
- Work closely with IT and finance teams to facilitate system upgrades and enhancements that support collections and cash application operations.
Performance Metrics:
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of collections and cash application processes.
- Monitor and report on collections performance, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks related to credit and collections and develop mitigation strategies to protect Solera’s financial interests.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers to facilitate timely collections and resolve disputes.
- Develop effective communication strategies to enhance customer experience during the collections process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in collections and cash applications, with at least 3 years in a managerial role, preferably in the automotive or technology sector.
- Proven track record of driving process improvements and managing change in a complex, transformational environment.
- Strong understanding of financial systems, accounting principles, and cash management practices.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve operational excellence.
