You have a history of success as a BDR — and somewhere along the way, you realised your natural talent lies in making the people around you better.

Nearmap is looking for a Sales Development Manager to lead our Australian SDR team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be present on the floor, in the recordings, in the one-on-ones, delivering live coaching and turning everyday calls into career-defining moments for your team. We're a global aerial imagery and geospatial technology company with a product people genuinely get excited about. Our SDR team is the engine that kicks off that excitement — and you'll be the one building that engine into something exceptional.

What you'll actually be doing

Coaching, not just managing. You'll spend meaningful time in Gong, reviewing calls, spotting patterns, and running structured training sessions that sharpen your team's skills week over week. A minimum of 4–6 hours of call and skill training per rep, per month — because reps grow when the feedback is real and consistent.

Setting the standard. From prospecting discipline and CRM hygiene to call structure and pipeline handoff, you'll establish the fundamentals that make reps effective — not just busy.

Driving pipeline. You'll work closely with Marketing and Sales leadership to define target accounts, build and refine outreach cadences, and make sure every rep has the leads and tools they need to hit quota.

Growing careers. Your north star isn't just the pipeline number — it's sending reps on to full-cycle AE roles better than they arrived. That's the measure of a great SDR leader.

Keeping things running. You'll manage the day-to-day rhythms of the team: attendance, scheduling, reporting, and operational accountability. The boring stuff matters, and you'll own it.

Qualifications

What you bring

  • A track record as an individual contributor in an SDR or BDR function — you've lived the role
  • 2+ years of lead, supervisory, or direct management experience
  • Strong Salesforce skills and comfort with sales data and dashboards
  • The ability to coach across the full commercial spectrum — from SMB to enterprise
  • High EQ, clear communication, and the energy to keep a junior team motivated and accountable
