Job Description:

  • Reviews organization's operating mechanisms, Manufacturing/Test process effectiveness and ensure that business systems meet operating requirements in the short and long terms. They also work with production personnel and department chiefs to improve operating processes.
  • Plans, coordinates and performs process/test design optimization tasks; works with occasional supervision from department heads; and oversees project activities, such as process simulation and improvement. The engineer also interacts with Production, IT Group, Equipment Engineering and Production Control when necessary; provides periodic data to supervisors; and establishes goals, plans, and work schedules to achieve common departmental and group goals.
  • Perform tasks adeptly; a senior engineer must have math acumen, good communication skills and the ability to solve difficult problems.
  • Provide leadership to Team, on top of keeping the line operational/running and in control.
  • Lead small/medium size projects for like “new product introduction (NPI)”, “product/process improvement “, “research and purchase of new manufacturing (automation) and testing technology”. Providing leadership among peers and counterparts towards successful projects (Productivity, Cost, Yield and Quality). Makes decisions independently on engineering or scientific problems and methods and represents the company in conferences to resolve important questions, and plans and coordinates work.
  • Promote innovative solutions, makes the process/test procedure more efficient, productive, cost effective and high standard. Leads innovation events pulling in applicable resources to learn and leverage.
  • Review and write standard/s and complex technical reports and proposals, making sure all recent changes and process simplification/control documented and that it remains competitive.
  • Performs evaluations, DOE, product and process capability analysis as deem necessary, to improve product/process capability/quality.
  • Monitors and analyzes line performance regularly (either daily or weekly) thru accepted standards like DATALYZER, SPC, Yield, Number of Defects and Feedback Monitor from counterpart here and abroad.
  • Conducts process and product training when and where necessary.
  • The ability to work proactively with other groups and Senior Leadership is essential.
  • Other basic expectations to a Senior Manufacturing Engineer are herewith listed for our common reference.
  • Line sustaining, ensuring KRAs are met and process is running in accordance to documented specification, control, and standards.
  • Maintain specifications up to date with recent changes.
  • Implement continuous improvement opportunities to ensure the process is high quality, efficient, productive and cost effective.
  • Perform product, process, and material evaluation and/or qualification to further expand the business or as directed by the Business Unit counterparts.
  • Demonstrate sense of urgency towards production needs and by providing timely response, accommodating flexible working hours to satisfy schedule or task needs.
  • Act as liaison between local site and the BUs located across the globe.
  • Work with internal and external customers to meet product requirements.
  • Flexible to perform other duties as assigned

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Preferably BSECE, BSME, and or Material Science Engineering Degree Holder.
  • Written and verbal communication experience with local and foreign nationals
  • High knowledge of statistical tool application and Office applications.
  • Basic use of any CAD applications
  • Strong interest of material science fundamentals
  • Knowledgeable in 8D, FMEA, APQP, Six Sigma, and other Process Tools
  • Preferably with Lean Six Sigma Experience but not a must
