The Role:

As part of the Corporate Finance team, the Senior Finance Manager, Accounting and External Reporting manages all aspects of corporate consolidations process, assists in the management reporting process and related activities. This role reports to Director of Accounting in Corporate Finance and interacts closely with members of the operational finance teams and senior management.

Job Responsibilities:
• Manage consolidations process, prepare and/or review corporate accounting journal entries
• Manage intercompany transactions across all group legal entities, including operating, capital and financing transactions. Oversee intercompany eliminations.
• Drive special projects as assigned.
• Prepare and analyse reports on consolidated financial results, including liaising with various operational finance teams to understand the financial results of the respective business segments (for example Balance Sheet Review)
• Lead legal entity accounting, including working closely with Tax team and Business Area Finance.
• Prepare IFRS research, position papers and accounting memos.
• Lead Month End Close activities, reporting processes and controls.
• Supervise 1 direct report.
• Work with operational finance teams, Shared Services and other stakeholders on accounting policy implementation and continuous controls improvement.
• Responsible for financial consolidation and reporting systems, procedures and controls (including assisting in the implementation of any new systems)
• Responsible for equity awards accounting and reporting activities
• Lead audit liaison with External Auditors.
• Build trust-based relationships through effective communication with internal and external stakeholders -operational finance teams, all levels of management and other corporate groups.

Skills and Capabilities Essential Skills:
• Post-secondary education in finance/accounting CPA (CA, CMA or CGA) Designation
• Proven hands on IFRS experience (US GAAP hands on experience will be considered)
• OneStream, Workiva experience (comparable tools will be considered)
• Infor LN ERP proficiency (other ERP proficiency will be considered)
• Ability to work in a highly dynamic fast-paced environment and to meet tight deadlines
• Strong sense of ethics and a team player.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and analytical skills
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong ability to manage multiple priorities, take ownership and drive projects/issues to completion.
• Organized, autonomous, proactive and a good sense of judgment

• Demonstrated leadership skills


Experience:
• Minimum 7+ years of post-designation accounting experience
• A combination of an accounting firm and industry experience
• Multi-entity consolidation, multi-currency experience desired
• Experience in consolidation and reporting systems an asset
• Experience working on or in the design of internal controls an asset
• Experience with high complexity projects such as M&A activities, system implementations, capital and financing transactions.

Special Considerations:

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the Reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and be able to obtain higher clearances.

The compensation range for this position is $120,000 - $145,000 annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate
