Job Title: Human Resources Generalist
Location: Germantown MD
Job Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist is a key member of the team, responsible for supporting day-to-day HR operations across the full employee lifecycle. This role provides administrative and operational support while actively contributing to recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and HR compliance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Human Resources department
- Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential employee records in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
- Manage and update HRIS (BambooHR preferred), ensuring data integrity and timely entry of employee information
- Support full-cycle onboarding, including preparing offer letters, coordinating new hire documentation, and facilitating orientation
- Assist in recruiting efforts, including job postings, resume screening coordination, interview scheduling, and tracking recruitment metrics
- Support benefits administration, including employee enrollments, changes, and responding to employee inquiries
- Prepare HR-related reports, dashboards, presentations, and spreadsheets using Excel and PowerPoint
- Assist with HR compliance initiatives, audits, and documentation as needed
- Provide general support on HR projects and initiatives to improve processes and employee experience
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Human Resources or administrative support
- Experience with HRIS systems (BambooHR strongly preferred)
- Experience supporting employees in a federal government contracting environment
- Familiarity with federal HR compliance requirements, including I-9, EEO, and related regulations
- Understanding of government contracting requirements and the ability to support employees in navigating related policies and procedures
- Experience working in a cleared facility or supporting cleared personnel
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including creating reports and presentations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
