Maxar Space Systems is currently seeking a motivated and creative Web Design & Social Media Intern to join our team in Palo Alto, CA. In this role, you will help shape the development of our new company website while supporting and enhancing our social media strategy. This role offers the opportunity to work on website design and optimization, as well as leverage the website as a powerful tool to boost social media engagement and digital marketing efforts.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the design, development, and launch of the new company website, ensuring it is visually appealing, user-friendly, and aligned with our brand guidelines.
Collaborate with the team to create cohesive content strategies that drive traffic from social platforms to the website.
Optimize the website for performance, SEO, mobile responsiveness, and integration with social media channels.
Create and update social media content, including posts, graphics, and videos, in line with brand guidelines.
Monitor website analytics, track social media traffic, and provide insights to enhance both website and social media performance.
Ensure that the website and social media platforms reflect consistent messaging and promote a unified brand image.
Minimum Requirements
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Strong knowledge of HTML, web design principles, and web optimization techniques (SEO, speed, mobile responsiveness).
Experience using design tools to create visually engaging content.
Familiarity with social media platforms (Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) and best practices for digital marketing.
Understanding of website analytics tools and social media metrics.
Strong communication and writing skills.
Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks
