Maxar is seeking a Senior Technical Cybersecurity Architect to join our team in Palo Alto, CA. This position may also be performed remotely within the United States. In this role, you will provide advanced judgement and conduct in-depth quantitative or qualitative analysis to solve problems and develop new, innovative cybersecurity solutions. This position will require you to think beyond existing solutions, assumptions, or current knowledge of sophisticated spacecraft and terrestrial information technology networks, applications, and systems. You will be responsible for making decisions which will determine the technical cybersecurity approaches and strategies for commercial and government spacecraft programs.
Responsibilities:
- Establish enterprise approach to implementing appropriate cyber controls, application of Risk Management Framework (RMF), Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), and managing Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and other key cyber-security processes, techniques
- Providing configuration management (CM) recommendations for information system security software, hardware, and firmware and coordinating changes and modifications
- Align cloud security architecture with industry frameworks and regulatory compliance requirements
- Architect, design and implement end-to-end security solutions, using new and upcoming security technology standards and protocols
- Review and approve documentation and configurations for security platforms
- Present proposals to stakeholders and senior management
- Perform research activities to identify emerging technologies and trends that may affect the enterprise
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive security strategy and roadmap that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, network engineering, information systems, cyber security, management information systems technology or a closely related discipline
- DOD 8570 IAT or IAM Level 3 compliant professional certification (i.e. CISSP or Associate, CASP CE, CCNP Security, CISA, GCED, GCIH, CISM, or GSLC)
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in administration, operations, procedures, and troubleshooting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related technical field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with zero-trust network design
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure
- Experience working with NIST 800-53 and 800-171 security controls
- Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles and requirements definition
- 15 years of experience in administration, operations, procedures, and troubleshooting

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:
$137,000.00 - $229,000.00 annually.
