The WorldView Legion Satellite & Ground System Program team drives innovation into both space & ground systems through the build lifecycle management in partnership with executive sponsors and business units. We deliver technical solutions into both internal operations and external, customer-facing offerings, collaborating with both operational leaders and go to market teams. This role as the technical team lead provides technical leadership and program execution oversight throughout the whole initiative and project lifecycle.
To be successful in this role, you must be a systematic and technical solutions-focused leader who is able to ensure a scoped technical product or capability is enabled and delivered on schedule and within budget in a way that is compatible with or complimentary to the existing Maxar Commercial and Secure Operations ground systems. The successful candidate will have experience with model-based engineering as well as generation of traditional SE artifacts, such as Concepts of Operations, Requirements, Use Cases, and related documentation. The candidate should have experience working with large, complex software systems, and will be expected to leverage this experience to quickly learn specific aspects of our space & ground systems including commanding & telemetry, and space mission control and mission management systems, etc.
As Maxar’s systems span multiple areas of expertise, you will require extensive technical leadership, collaboration, and clear communication, both written and verbal. The scope of deliverables includes requirements derivation, engineering and solution design, initiative and project planning/readiness, and technical oversight of the successful implementation or product roll out in the context of the WorldView Legion program.
In this role, you will also gather and manage customer business and technical requirements as part of working with market-facing team members. You will lead and collaborate closely with the program manager and project leads, architects, and other systems engineers to ensure alignment of customer requirements with development and implementation plans. You will also collaborate closely with release train functional leads (product owners and subject matter experts) to define technical work plans and dependencies. You will be responsible for technical outcome verification and facilitating an optimized transition into operations and keep end-users/operators apprised of the overall technical solution and progress. This role is heavily software-based, and business-value focused with the ability to thrive in an often chaotic and fast-paced environment.
Your Career: We’re very serious about professional development and continuing education at Maxar. We offer our team members with the opportunity to define their own career trajectory. Our group has amazing resources to support learning and development. You will work with your manager, or a mentor, to set goals and design a development plan to advance your career.
What We Offer: Time for dedicated professional development, conference attendance, corporate partner and industry training, peer group collaboration, hackathons, as well as paid certifications, education reimbursement and student loan forgiveness.
