Maxar is seeking experienced IT Techs, Sys Admins or DevSecOps that want to continue to grow as a DevSecOps Engineer. We work to support operations for a user base with a mission to solve unique and challenging problems for national security. The ideal candidate will be part of a small multi-disciplinary ops, software and analytics team who is methodical and mission focused. This project provides a unique opportunity to interact directly with users and other technologists to ensure solutions, development and tools meet the needs of national security. You will be teamed up with seasoned DevSecOps pros, so growth exists to dive deeper into the DevSecOps career field.

Note: US citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance is mandatory for this position and required for consideration. Must be open to acquire CI Poly.

Location:

  • Primary: Virginia (Herndon, Springfield Customer Site), Michigan (Ypsilanti), Missouri (St Louis)
  • Secondary Location considered: Missouri (St Louis), Colorado (Westminster)

Estimated Work Hours:

This position requires evening or overnight as the core work hours and some on-call duties.

  • Sun-Thurs (12am - 8am ET flex to 40 hrs/wk)
  • Sun-Thurs (4pm - 11:59pm ET flex to 40 hrs/wk)
  • Pay differential for non-daytime hours.
  • Corporate Holidays off with pay, but there may be shared on-call responsibilities with larger team.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve sustainment issues of the tech stack to include network, automation pipelines, and infrastructure and escalate as necessary.
  • Manage, update, and patch the system to minimize security vulnerabilities and ensure cATO thresholds are met.
  • Support our system migration to a new HPC hardware stack
  • Communicate with multidisciplinary teams and articulate technical concepts and ideas effectively.
  • This position requires availability to work evening or night hours for minimum of 15 months.

Skills Required

  • 4+ years of experience in deploying and maintaining technical system capabilities for the DoD or IC community, geospatial context, and/or big data analytics
    • 8 years w/o degree; 6 years w/ Associates, or +4 w/ Bachelors
  • Must be able to work independently with minor supervision, but able to triage and escalate for reach-back.
  • Commercial, open source, and custom application deployments and maintenance experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with LINUX system administration and scripting
  • Capable of working effectively with a geographically distributed ops & development team
  • Communicates effectively with customers and team in written and oral forums
  • Willingness to work 90% or as needed in a SCIF environment with some on-call or after-hours onsite support for customer’s mission
  • Active TS/SCI clearance and US citizenship

Additional Skills Desired

Some familiarity in these areas would be fabulous.

  • An adaptable and solution centric mindset that embraces technology enablers.
  • Familiarity with common industry software tools, concepts, Agile, and DevSecOps
  • Familiarity with concepts such as GIS applications, Data visualization; Data management, Data integration, User Interface, Databases, ATO, STIG, Cyber Security
  • Experience with
    • Distributed processing methods and tools, such as REST APIs, microservices, IaaS/PaaS services.
    • Developing and deploying web services.
    • Working with open-source resources in a government computing environment
  • Strong Linux skills and familiarity with hybrid cloud/on-prem architecture, AWS, C2S, OpenStack, etc.
  • Can work independently with factory reach-back support.
  • CompTIA Security+ or comparable certification for privileged user access (or willingness to acquire within 90 days of onboarding)
  • Experience as a military/intelligence analyst, supporting the military/IC, or knowledge of some IC PED systems is a plus!

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

$87,000.00 - $145,000.00 annually.
