Trucking and logistics are inherently on the go and extremely dynamic – and Maven’s vision for our mobile products is to make apps that enable truck drivers, dock workers, managers, and field personnel to do their best work whether they are out on road, at the terminal, or at home. This means designing apps that are bullet proof, beautifully designed (and functional), and always connected. We are looking for a senior software engineer who is excited by our mission and wants to join our team to help lead and execute this mobile vision.
Maven is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate is based in Pittsburgh, PA or elsewhere in the continental U.S.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead and drive the technical direction of Maven’s mobile strategy – including managing overall system design / architecture, technical debt roadmap, and mobile developer experience.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to design, develop, document, and deploy robust, enterprise grade products and software.
Spread your knowledge by mentoring fellow engineers, assisting in design and code reviews, and advocating for best practices.
Take ownership and participate in all steps of the development process, from design to release and support.
More About You
BS/MS in Computer Science or related field with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
Strong programming/coding skills with a deep understanding of what makes a good mobile app.
Strong understanding of either Android, iOS, and/or cross platform development.
Experience navigating difficult technical decisions and significant architectural changes.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Resourceful team player that thrives in a fast-paced, startup environment.
The Ideal Candidate Has
A critical eye and mind for good UX.
Experience with real time systems, remote telematics, GPS tracking, and/or designing for offline.
Experience with cross platform mobile development.
Familiarity with full stack development and microservice architectures.
