Description
We’re seeking an experienced Product Designer to lead design efforts for our data processing, conversion, and upload services. They are becoming an integral part of MapTiler Cloud, our flagship maps platform, and we need your skills to improve, develop, and expand them.
You’ll work in a small, autonomous team alongside developers and a product manager. Additionally, you’ll collaborate with other designers within the company working on our products and services, evangelising design thinking and good design practices and contributing to the upcoming design system.
What you will do
Own and lead design for data processing, conversion and upload services within Maptiler Cloud and MapTiler Engine desktop application.
Be responsible for an end-to-end design process: research, discovery, design (both UX and UI) and testing.
Collect, process, and execute customer feedback – conduct user interviews, build and validate prototypes.
Create both functional and appealing designs that address our client's needs and help us grow our customer base.
Communicate and present your designs to other stakeholders in the team or company.
Work closely with the product manager, developers, and synchronise with other designers in the company.
Work and participate on our upcoming design system based on MUI in Figma.
Improve design practices and processes to raise design maturity across the company.
What we expect from you
Minimum of 5 years of proven work experience as a UX, UI or Product Designer or similar role, preferably on digital and long-term projects.
Portfolio of professional design projects or a presentation of a case study showcasing any past project you worked on.
Professional level experience with design software, preferably Figma.
An experience with qualitative and quantitative user research.
An ability to prototype all your designs and test them out.
Being able to communicate design decisions with concrete arguments based on user research.
An understanding that good design serves a much deeper purpose than just “looking good”.
Precision, consistency, and being organized in your work.
A team player who collaborates on a common outcome.
But also a self-starter who can work independently on assigned tasks.
A strong drive for self-improvement, learning, and sharing knowledge.
Nice to have
Interest in maps or cartography.
Knowledge of the GIS or map industry.
Previous projects including designs for data processing services.
Experience with designing desktop apps for Windows or macOS.
Experience with Agile methodology.
