At MapTiler, we're looking for a talented and driven Developer Advocate/Community Manager to champion our platform and empower developers worldwide.Your Mission:
As a vital member of the Marketing team, you will be the bridge between MapTiler and the global developer community. You'll foster a vibrant ecosystem where developers can learn, connect, and build incredible things with our mapping platform. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Community Building: Cultivate and grow a thriving MapTiler developer community on platforms like Reddit, Hacker News, Stack Overflow, and GitHub.
- Developer Advocacy: Become the voice of the developer within MapTiler, advocating for their needs and providing valuable feedback to our product and engineering teams.
- Content Creation: Craft compelling technical content, including tutorials, blog posts, sample code, and documentation, that inspires and educates developers.
- Technical Support & Guidance: Actively engage with developers online, answering their questions, troubleshooting issues, and helping them succeed with MapTiler.
- Trend Analysis: Stay on top of the latest trends in web development, particularly in the mapping and geospatial space, and identify opportunities to engage the community.
- Collaboration: Work closely with our product and engineering teams to ensure a cohesive and developer-centric approach.
- Data-Driven Optimization: Partner with our Data Analyst to measure the impact of your efforts and identify areas for improvement.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Passion for Developers: A genuine desire to help developers succeed and a deep understanding of their needs, pain points, and motivations.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with web development, primarily JavaScript, and a solid understanding of web mapping concepts.
- Community Engagement Expertise: Familiarity with developer communities like Reddit, Hacker News, Stack Overflow, and GitHub. Bonus points for an established, positive reputation!
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally (C1+ English proficiency).
- Proactive & Independent: A self-starter who takes initiative, identifies opportunities, and drives projects forward.
- Collaborative Spirit: A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
- Continuous Learner: A strong drive for self-improvement, a thirst for knowledge, and a willingness to share what you learn.
Bonus Points:
- Experience in a Developer Advocate, Community Manager, or similar B2D (Business-to-Developer) role.
- Prior experience working with web mapping APIs or libraries (Leaflet, OpenLayers, Mapbox GL JS, etc.).
- Knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) principles.
- Familiarity with the market trends in online map vizualization.
