What You'll Do
Oversee the company's financial and strategic planning by evaluating its performance and potential risks.
Perform duties in all aspects with a broad understanding of finance, tax, and corporate strategy.
Communicate with the stakeholders in Japan and US teams
Lead the efforts of all finance and accounting teams required to implement the company's growth strategy.
Perform regular financial analysis, including company-wide KPI integrations.
Develop budgets that meet the requirements of company departments.
Delegate appropriate work to third-party contractors.
Ensure the organization complies with accounting standards both for JGAAP and US GAAP.
Manage and oversee the company's treasury operations.
Manage and oversee the organization's tax affairs and liaise with the external tax firm for specialist advice.
Supervise all audit and internal control processes.
Prepare detailed reports on the company’s financial performance to the executive team.
Recognize the company’s spending and revenue patterns and recommend solutions to any problem.
Coordinate with external financial entities on behalf of the company.
Drive process improvement projects to streamline and automate workflows, including system integrations with the global financial software.
Support the global Finance & Accounting team with other projects as needed.
What We Believe are Important Traits for This Role
4-6 years of relevant finance and accounting experience.
Experience working at a technology startup and/or US-headquartered company is a plus
Solid grasp of multiple accounting standards, such as US GAAP and J-GAAP
Experience preparing the month-end financial close package
Experience with Netsuite, FloQast, Stripe, and Salesforce is a plus
Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
Highly analytical with strong, complex problem-solving skills
Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
Have a keen sense of curiosity to learn and ask questions
Practical oral and written communication skills
B.A./ B.S. degree
English language skills mandatory
