Senior System Engineer EGSE - Kourou

We are looking for a Senior System engineer to join the Avionics Control Command EGSE engineering team. As part of the team responsibilities, you will lead the deployment, and validation of the Maia launcher control command & EGSE means at the CSG, as well as maintain them in operational conditions, and contribute to test and flight campaigns. You will also participate to the design, definition, development of the Control Command EGSE means.

The Control Command EGSE are part of the EGSE family benches in charge of the avionic teams to follow the launcher vehicle and all its subassemblies for their different life-phases, from testing and integration to launch operations and stage recovery.

The position is meant for a multidisciplinary and polyvalent engineer to oversee part of the validation activities and start-up operations in the Kourou platforms. This activity is meant to be executed in proximity with the other MaiaSpace teams and stakeholders of the launch complex facilities.

Your tasks will be the following:

Deploy, validate and maintain in operational conditions at CSG:

  • Lead the deployment by proactively contributing, and coordinating the subcontractor teams when necessary.

  • Lead the validation and acceptance campaigns in Kourou: contribute to the validation & acceptance logics, contribute to the tests definition, execution, analysis and anomaly management

  • Maintain in operational conditions: manage the hardware and software configuration and perform required maintenance

Contribute to the Avionic CC EGSE team

  • Oversee the coherence of the EGSE system interfaces and capabilities deployed in the several foreseen platforms in Kourou premises.

  • Collaborate with other MaiaSpace teams (system engineers, AIT engineers and Operators) to identify and establish the system interfaces, system needs and system functions to integrate in the CSG platforms.

  • Collaborate with MaiaSpace CSG industrial partners to identify and establish the system external interfaces and functions to integrate in the CSG platforms.

  • Guarantee the system interfaces coherency through the life-phase and evolution of the MaiaSpace projects in its roadmap.

  • Provide technical support and expertise during test campaign, anomaly investigation and nominal operations.

Launcher and demonstration operational support

  • Within our DevOps approach, the EGSE team will support the AIT and operational teams and will participate with them to the tests and launch campaigns.

Act as the local IT focal point, in coordination with IT responsible at La Defense:

  • Act as local relay to support internal users .

  • Act as local relay for IT infrastructure deployment and maintenance.

🛸Technical Skills :

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in testing complex process control systems and control loops systems like: SCADA, DCS, PLC, RTU, etc.

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in test bench, data acquisition system and measurement: NI, Dewesoft, etc.

  • Knowledge and experience on common Process Control Network, Fieldbuses, and data exchange standards: OPC UA, Modbus/TCP, Ethercat, IEC 61784, etc.

  • Knowledge and experience in programming process control and data acquisition systems: Node-Red, CoDeSys, LabView, embedded C/C++, IEC 61131, etc.

🎓Qualification :

  • Engineering degree in electrical Engineering, Aerospace engineering or related field.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in EGSE development and/or operation for Space or aerospace applications

  • Strong Knowledge in electrical systems, instrumentation and test automation.

  • Experience in aerospace and field-bus communication protocols (CAN, MIL-STD-1553, SpaceWire, Profinet, OPC UA, Modbus/TCP, Ethercat, IEC 61784, etc).

  • Familiarity with EMC, safety and reliability standards.

  • Knowledge and experience in SCADA systems and other PLC-based control loop solutions applied for integration, testing and/or validation.

  • Knowledge and experience in system engineering life-cycle.

  • Desired knowledge and experience in Agile methods for project management.

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in designing and testing complex process control systems and control loops systems like: SCADA, DCS, PLC, RTU, etc.

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in test bench, data acquisition system and measurement: NI, Dewesoft, etc.

  • This position is considered in Kourou French Guyana within the CSG.

  • Trips to Paris - La Defense and Vernon are expected as part of the activities.
