The Sr Manager of Cloud Services is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational excellence, and day-to-day management of four critical technical teams: DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Cloud Infrastructure, and Database Operations (DBOps). This role ensures the delivery of highly available, scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud services that power our industry-leading product engineering and cloud operations. The Director will support and drive the definition, design, and support of cloud services that enable millions of devices and applications to operate seamlessly and reliably.
What You'll Do:
- Team Leadership & Strategic Direction
- Lead, mentor, and develop four specialized teams: DevOps, SRE, Cloud Infrastructure, and DBOps, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support with Defining and execute the strategic roadmap for cloud services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and technology standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, security, and business stakeholders to prioritize initiatives and deliver enterprise-grade solutions.
Technical Functions
- Support CI/CD platform maintenance and support, ensuring robust, secure, and efficient software delivery pipelines.
- Support release engineering and deployment automation, leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevSecOps practices to enhance agility and compliance.
- Direct the maintenance and implementation of cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security across public, private, and edge cloud environments.
- Support network engineering efforts, including design, optimization, and least-cost routing for global connectivity.
- Manage cloud migration projects and FinOps practices to optimize cloud spend and resource utilization.
- Ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of all cloud services through proactive reliability engineering.
- Support observability and monitoring initiatives, providing actionable insights and ensuring rapid detection and resolution of issues.
- Support incident response and management, including business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) planning and execution.
- Direct database maintenance and implementation and optimization, supporting both transactional and analytical workloads at scale.
Operational Excellence
- Develop and track metrics for operational efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness, supporting continuous improvement and investment decisions.
- Partner with security teams to implement comprehensive risk management, vulnerability management, and incident response programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in cloud infrastructure, operations, and automation leadership roles.
- Experience managing DevOps, SRE, Cloud Infrastructure, and DBOps teams.
- Technical expertise in cloud migrations, networking, security, IaC, automated deployments, and big data platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver enterprise technology solutions in collaboration with software engineering and business teams.
