Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant will act as the functional expert to the accounting team that is responsible for the following functions specific to the Lytx India Technologies entity: cash, fixed asset additions and depreciation, purchase and payables, prepaid accounts and accruals, lease accounting, transfer pricing accounting policies and procedures, and the overall month end and quarter end close process. This role will include leading the day-to-day process during the annual statutory audit. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the 3rd party accounting/finance consulting firm to ensure that payroll is processed and reviewed, and all tax requirements are met. This role will also include the review and addition of new general ledger accounts specific to Lytx India. The Senior Accountant will own the review of the external consultants work and execute on the more complex accounting close processes. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with experience in multiple general accounting areas, be adaptive to a continuously evolving work environment, and have a desire to become a part of a growing, world-class organization.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviews subsidiary Balance Sheets and Income Statements to identify fluctuations month over month to help analyze financial data and ensure accounts are complete and accurate as part of the month end close process.
  • Owns the processing and review of monthly cash, prepaid accounts, purchase and payables, leases, and accrual accounts within the Balance Sheet.
  • Completion of the Balance Sheet account reconciliations which will be reviewed by the Assistant Controller. Applies expertise to update or change as necessary to reflect the appropriate balance and finalizes the reconciliation.
  • Review and verification that the monthly payroll is accurate, complete, and includes all necessary changes.
  • Works closely with Human Capital and Xllent (3rd Party Accounting/Finance firm)
  • Owns the general ledger accounts for the Lytx India entity and makes recommendations and changes as necessary.
  • Lead contact for the annual statutory audit including and supporting documentation and follow ups. Status updates expected to be concise and provided to senior management
  • Manages Lytx Inc./Lytx India intercompany transactions and submits invoices to the proper regulatory bodies
  • Uses expertise to evaluate trending analysis of specific accounts and month-over-month changes
  • Responsible for assisting in the overall control of Company through the review and completion of controls in place.
  • A key member of the hiring team for GL staff accountants, including interviewing and assessing for functional and technical capabilities for Lytx India specific roles.
  • Onboarding for all new hires from a finance/accounting perspective
  • Creates the month end close process and improves the process as necessary going forward.
  • Prepares monthly P&L flux, analyze variances and propose recommendations to ensure financial data is captured and reported accurately and completely on a consistent basis.
  • Develops and standardizes policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned. Any other duties as assigned.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Thorough understanding of India accounting laws and regulations. Some knowledge of U.S. GAAP is preferable
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills.
  • Intermediate experience with MS Excel
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of enterprise accounting software packages for both general ledger and statutory accounting. NetSuite and Tally are preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty.
  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting from an accredited university or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years progressively responsible experience in accounting at a fast paced and growing company.
