We are seeking an exceptional Head of Marketplace FP&A at the Senior Director level to join our leadership team, reporting to the VP, Head of FP&A. This executive will drive strategic financial decision-making across our marketplace business through advanced analytics, consumer tech expertise, and proven ROI frameworks.

This role demands a finance leader with deep consumer technology experience who can translate complex marketplace dynamics into actionable business insights and drive measurable improvements in unit economics and business performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Finance & Business Partnership

    • Lead comprehensive financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for the entire marketplace P&L, including revenue optimization, customer acquisition costs, and operational efficiency initiatives.
    • Partner directly with business leaders and executive leadership to develop and execute against strategic finance initiatives and key investment decisions.
    • Drive weekly forecast updates, quarterly business reviews with sophisticated analysis of marketplace performance and growth & profitability drivers.

    Consumer Tech Funnel Analytics & ROI Optimization

    • Build and maintain advanced ROI frameworks across the full customer journey - from acquisition through retention and monetization.
    • Lead analysis of consumer tech funnel metrics including CAC, LTV, conversion rates, retention cohorts, and unit economics across all marketplace segments and modes.
    • Develop sophisticated attribution models and incrementality testing frameworks to optimize marketing spend and product investments.

    Data-Driven Insights & Business Improvement

    • Proactively identify opportunities to improve marketplace efficiency, profitability, and growth through deep-dive analysis and competitive benchmarking.
    • Design and implement automated financial models and dashboards that provide real-time visibility into key business drivers and performance indicators.
    • Lead cross-functional initiatives to optimize pricing strategies, demand forecasting, and supply-demand matching.
    • Drive scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to support strategic decisions around market expansion, product launches, and capital allocation.
    • Manage the quarterly performance of the business.

    Team Leadership & Process Excellence

    • Build, manage, and develop a high-performing FP&A team with expertise in marketplace dynamics and consumer tech metrics
    • Establish best-in-class financial processes, including data collection and analysis.
    • Foster a culture of analytical rigor and business partnership across the finance organization

Experience:

  • Consumer Tech & ideally Marketplace Expertise
  • 12+ years of FP&A experience with at least 8+ years in consumer technology companies, preferably in marketplace, platform, or network effect businesses
  • Proven expertise in consumer tech funnel metrics, cohort analysis, and multi-sided marketplace unit economics
  • Deep experience building and implementing ROI frameworks for customer acquisition, product development, and market expansion initiatives
  • Extensive track record of building and leading high-performing FP&A teams in fast-growth environments
  • Strong executive presence with experience presenting to boards, investors, and C-suite leadership
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and experience with public company reporting requirements
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with ability to translate complex financial concepts for diverse audiences

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the Lyft San Francisco office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year. #Hybrid

The expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco Bay area is $232,000 - $290,000. In addition to the base pay, this role is eligible for competitive equity awards, bonuses, and benefits. You can read more about Lyft’s employee benefits here.
