Lyft is hiring a bright, energetic, and self-motivated Product and Commercial Counsel (Rideshare) with at least 4 years of legal experience to join our Legal Team. The successful candidate will be pragmatic, entrepreneurial and comfortable working in an ambiguous, quickly-changing, and sometimes chaotic environment, with a high workload. You will partner with and provide legal guidance to departments such as Product, Marketing, Operations, Partnerships, and Finance on initiatives that influence all aspects of Lyft’s business. The legal issues you’ll encounter are cutting edge, revolutionary and always evolving so it will be up to you to continuously assess and advise using a creative and pragmatic approach.
Responsibilities:
- Support Lyft product teams as they develop, launch, and operate diverse new products and programs
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of legal agreements involving complex partnerships and technology transactions
- Provide practical and creative legal advice and support on business matters in a fast-paced business environment
- Develop and drive comprehensive, long-term legal strategies that balance risk and business objectives
- Prioritize workload to set goals and meet deadlines in a fluctuating and sometimes ambiguous business environment
- Assist other teams with projects on an as-needed basis
Experience:
- Law degree from top-tier law school and membership in a state bar with good standing
- 4+ years of experience working in a law firm or in-house legal department
- Experience advising on the development of new products and services
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities, judgment, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills
- Strong track record of working with a wide range of commercial agreements and customer facing terms
- Willing and eager to take on new areas of law and function independently in a demanding fast-paced environment
- Ability to think quickly on your feet, convey grace under pressure, and simultaneously manage workloads, multiple client demands and shifting priorities
- Ability to operate autonomously while being a team player who brings a positive attitude to the workplace

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Thursdays and a team-specific third day. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year. #Hybrid
The expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco area is $144,000 - $180,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
