Lunar Outpost Oceania is partnering with prominent mining companies to explore automating monitoring, inspection, and maintenance tasks to improve the safety and productive operating time of its underground mining assets. We are seeking a Project Engineering Intern to join our fast-paced, dynamic team as part of the Accelerating Women in METS Internship Program for the 2024-2025 Summer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Project Manager and Project Engineer in defining project scope, developing project proposals, plans and schedules, and establishing project goals and objectives.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of project budget, resources and risks, and ensuring project delivery is on time.
  • Coordinate Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Interface Definition Documents (IDDs), project and procurement scheduling, shipment receipt, and inventory tracking.
  • Support the Project Manager and Project Engineer to effectively communicate project statuses, issues, reports, and resolutions to stakeholders, customers and suppliers.
  • Ensure project documentation is accurate and in compliance with industry standards, regulations, and requirements.
  • Work in a team environment with other engineering disciplines including Mechanical engineers, Electrical engineers, Systems engineers, Thermal engineers, and more.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience studying a project management or engineering discipline at University, with a strong outside interest in either software, electrical, or mechanical systems, or mechatronic engineering.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and mechanical engineers, software developers, and other stakeholders, to ensure project success.
  • Confidence to participate in project reviews and provide feedback and recommendations to improve project delivery performance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in robotics or a related technical field.
  • Experience working in a startup environment.
