Lime is the largest global shared micromobility business, operating in close to 30 countries across five continents. We’re on a mission to build a future where transportation is shared, affordable and carbon-free. Our electric bikes and scooters have powered more than one billion rides in cities around the world. Named a 2025 Time 100 Most Influential Company, Lime continues to set the pace for shared micromobility globally, spurring a new generation of clean alternatives to car ownership.
High-quality hardware is the engine of our growth—it drives rider preference, wins RFPs, expands our license to operate, and reduces operating costs. As the Hardware and City Tech Product Leader, you lead the product management organization responsible for defining "what we build and why." You oversee a high-performing team of product managers and specialists to set the vision and roadmap for our physical and digital vehicle experience, ensuring our vehicles set the standard for industry leadership for cities, riders, and our operations. We are looking for a highly tenured Senior Director to step into this critical role for Lime.
This is a remote position with a preference for candidates to reside in San Francisco, CA to maintain effective collaboration across teams. If not local, travel to San Francisco is expected (typically 1x per month).
What You'll Do:
Vehicle Roadmap Leadership: Define the multi-year product strategy for next-generation vehicle platforms and future mobility modes. In partnership with engineering, you will establish the architecture that ensure we can enhance our fleet over time, and maintain leadership.
Leader of Leaders: Lead a team of Product Leaders across specialized workstreams, including Next-Gen Vehicle Platforms, Upgrades to our Existing Fleet, Reducing TCO (Total Cost of Ownership), and developing Technologies that solve problems on behalf of Cities.
Global Pilots: Oversee the strategy and execution of global technology pilots. You will ensure that new vehicle tech is vetted in real-world environments, and achieves our business objectives, before we choose to scale globally.
Project oversite: You are more than just an approver of project stagegates. You partner with engineering leaders to go deep on our key programs weekly. You inspect projects, help the teams solve problems, and make quick decisions.
City & RFP Engagement: Ensure that our hardware and city tech is well represented to city officials. Your team will present and demo our hardware and city-tech solutions during the RFP process, translating complex technical capabilities into clear value propositions for city officials.
Tech Alignment: Ensure the team is aligned on product strategies that allow engineering to build scalable solutions across multiple vehicle modes.
City Technology & Safety Innovation: You and your team own the product vision and execution of features that make cities love Lime. You prioritize high-impact compliance technology that differentiates our hardware during competitive city bid processes.
Fleet Efficiency Strategy: Set the product goals to drive down Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). You partner with Eng to identify product-led solutions for battery efficiency, connectivity, and hardware diagnostics to optimize the health and uptime of the global fleet.
Engineering: You partner closely with Hardware Engineering, Firmware, IoT, and Backend teams, who are responsible for the technical tasks, code development, and engineering execution.
Government Relations (GR): As the owner of the City Tech roadmap, your team aligns the product roadmap with GR to secure permits, and continuously solve the highest impact needs of our cities.
Operations: When we solve problems for our operators, we build a better business. We are relentlessly seeking ways to make our products more reliable, in order to save cost on both parts and labor.
User Experience, Research, and Design: You partner with these teams to ensure we deeply understand our customer needs, and are building solutions that they love.
Finance: You deep dive on financial analysis with your finance partners, to ensure we’re making high quality investment decisions
About You:
People Leadership: Extensive experience managing and scaling product management teams in a fast-paced environment. Proven leader of leaders.
Integrated HW/SW Experience: Proven track record of leading product management for complex, integrated products that span both hardware and software. The ideal candidate is familiar with the technologies at the heart of a SW-defined vehicle (IoT, embedded SW, and Computer Vision)
Hands-on and Curious: You are eager to roll up your sleeves, dive into the details of a hardware prototype, or spend time in the field to understand operational and rider pain points firsthand. You’re curious, and you follow those curiosities to build better products for our customers.
External-Facing Spokesperson: Experience presenting technical products to external stakeholders, regulators, or government officials in high-pressure environments.
Strategic Product Vision: Experience leading the end-to-end lifecycle of physical products, from initial concept and global pilots to full-scale deployment.
Systems Thinking: Ability to define high-leverage product requirements that allow engineering to build scalable solutions across multiple vehicle modes.
Experimentation and User Research: Experienced in using experimentation and User Research to make informed product decisions.
Financial Competency: Strong ability to deep-dive into financial analysis and modeling to ensure we are making high-quality, data-driven investment decisions.
U.S. Based Position - What We Offer:
Comprehensive Health & Wellness: A choice of medical, dental, and vision plans. We also provide company-paid life and disability insurance and company-funded mental health benefits.
