At Layup Parts, our mission is simple: deliver high-quality composite parts faster. We’re a technology-first manufacturing startup that’s revolutionizing how composite tooling and parts are made for the aerospace and defense industries. Our customers are developing tomorrow's high-tech products, and we are building technology to accelerate their success.

As we enter our next stage of growth following our Series A, we are looking for a Director of Recruiting to lead and scale talent acquisition across the company. This person will build the recruiting function, develop hiring strategy, partner closely with leadership, and help shape how we attract and hire exceptional talent across engineering, manufacturing, operations, software, and corporate teams.

This is a highly visible leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys building systems from the ground up, and wants to play a critical role in scaling a high-growth manufacturing startup.

What You’ll Do:

    • Own end-to-end, full-cycle recruiting and strategy for roles across Production, Operations and Software Engineering verticals.

    • Build and scale the recruiting infrastructure, processes, and hiring systems to support aggressive company growth.

    • Partner closely with executives and hiring managers to forecast hiring needs, prioritize searches, and develop TA strategies aligned with Layup’s business goals.

    • Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts for key and strategic hires.

    • Own sourcing and engagement strategies to identify and attract top and passive talent through diverse channels.

    • Establish recruiting metrics, dashboards, and reporting to improve hiring efficiency, candidate quality, and overall hiring performance.

    • Train and guide hiring managers on interview best practices, candidate evaluation, and structured hiring processes.

    • Build and elevate Layup Parts’ employer brand across LinkedIn, events, industry partnerships, and university and trade-school outreach.

    • Create a world-class candidate experience from first touch through onboarding.

    • Help define the long-term structure and growth of the Talent Acquisition function as the company scales.

    • Discuss and negotiate compensation with candidates, extend offers, and guide the offer process to close.

    • Strategize how to continue building out Layup’s recruitment and talent acquisition funnel as we continue to scale this team.

What We’re Looking For:

    • 8+ years of recruiting and talent acquisition experience, including experience leading recruiting efforts in fast-paced or high-growth environments.

    • Experience recruiting within manufacturing, aerospace, defense, engineering, or technical environments.

    • Proven ability to build recruiting processes, systems, and strategies that scale.

    • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and adapting quickly as priorities shift.

    • High attention to detail and an ownership mindset.

    • Passion for improving systems and processes.

    • Excellent communication skills.

    • Understanding of compliance and hiring best practices.

Bonus Points:

    • Experience scaling recruiting in startup or high-growth environments.

    • Ability and interest in scaling recruitment processes from the ground up.

    • Familiarity recruiting for composite manufacturing, machining, aerospace manufacturing, or advanced manufacturing environments.
