The data platform team is a new team that will support Data Engineering practices in order to scale and enable new products with less friction. The team is in charge of building new tools to have better data quality, lineage, SDK and analysts tools across the multiple tribes of Kpler.
Responsibilities
- Working closely with the tribe lead in order to set technical strategic goals at the tribe level.
- Working alongside data engineers, data scientists and product managers, take responsibility for the development and implementation of our shared data tools.
- Collaborate with the Cloud platform team and other staff engineers to ensure platform coherence.
- Establish technical standards and best practices.
- Mentorship, Coaching and leading: provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to engineers, particularly Senior and mid-level engineers, to help them develop their skills and advance their careers and foster good data practices and high standards.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Skills and Experience
- Have hands-on experience with Python and / or Scala or any other JVM language.
- Solid SQL skills for querying and managing relational databases.
- Knowledge of streaming and big data technologies (such as Kafka or Spark).
- Comfortable working with Agile methodologies and Software Craftsmanship.
- Worked on data platform and / or data mesh and have knowledge of data catalogs such as Open Metadata, Unity from Databricks or any others as well as data quality tools such as Montecarlo.
- Are eager to learn new languages and technologies.
Nice to have
- Have worked with AWS (or another cloud provider), using Terraform.
- Have experience with other JVM Languages.
- Have devOps skills.
- Experience leading internal tooling or developer productivity initiatives.
- Exposure to Elasticsearch.
- Experience with observability and monitoring in distributed systems.
