As the demand for smarter, more connected logistics solutions grows, we are building technology that simplifies operations and enhances decision-making for key players in the container logistics ecosystem.
We are looking for a staff backend engineer to join our growing container logistics team and contribute to a product we aim to establish as the market standard in container shipping logistics. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and ambitious project, working with a skilled and collaborative team spread across three different countries.
Your mission is to:
- Lead the design, execution and deployment of engineering solutions, solving our container logistics business cases.
- Actively participate in the creation of the roadmap.
- Work closely with other engineers, product managers, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality software.
- Provide technical mentoring to members of the wider team and business.
- Maintain and enforce the highest level of Engineering standards.
It will be a match if you are or have:
- Substantial professional experience as a Backend and/or Data engineer.
- Experience scaling high-traffic digital platforms and pride yourself on having a user first mindset.
- Excellent communication skills and professional english level.
- Team player, looking to ensure that colleagues and the team are successful.
- Strong expertise in Python (technology we currently use) and/or Scala (technology we may use in the near future).
- Experience with data processing frameworks (Apache Kafka, Spark, or equivalent).
- Strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of software engineering principles.
- Leadership and mentorship abilities.
- Knowledge of best practices in security.
- Familiarity with cloud environments and CI/CD tools.
- Experience working with AWS.
- Knowledge of Avro, Parquet.
- Open source project development experience.
