As a Technical Proposal Writer, you will collaborate with the Sales team, Program Management Office, Technical Leads, Project Managers, Engineers, and other team members to develop, organize, and write proposals and customer facing presentations.
You may also contribute to internal program support for procedure manuals, technical specifications, process documents, and internal communications.
This role will be able to work at our Toronto location or remotely (North America).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end development of customer-facing proposals (RFI, RFP, RFQ, ROM, and formal quotes), from kickoff through submission
  • Independently drive the development of high-quality, compliant, and persuasive proposal documentation tailored to the customer and procurement requirements
  • Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension, considering the target audience for various types of documentation
  • Work with subject matter experts to prepare, review, revise and maintain technical documentation
  • Lead cross-functional proposal efforts by guiding contributors, managing review cycles, and ensuring schedule and quality objectives are met
  • Advise on technical writing strategy and documentation related process development
  • Build and maintain reusable proposal content libraries, templates, and response frameworks

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Proposal Writer or similar relevant role
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Technical Writing, or other relevant degree
  • Experience gathering and analyzing technical information from various sources to document new and changing requirements and to document processes and procedures
  • Experience creating and using infographics such as diagrams, screenshots, charts, workflows, and with graphic tools for simple designs and photo editing that increase users’ understanding
  • Experience developing and maintaining templates for written documentation ensuring a consistent “look and feel” and meets and exceeds the company standards and internal communications
  • Expert level use MS Word, Power Point, SharePoint, and Confluence
  • Willingness to learn new processes, tools, and professional talents
  • Ability to follow directions, meet evolving project requirements and produce documentation in a quick turn-around environment and ability to expand a skeleton write-up/outline into a fully comprehensive body of text
  • Experience working work with cross-functional teams and towards aggressive deadlines, in team and individual setting, in a timely manner

Bonus Points:

  • Experience editing white papers
  • Experience working in technical Agile/Scrum teams
  • Degree or Minor in a Technical and/or Engineering discipline
  • Ability to pick up and write about a sufficiently complex technical document
  • Direct experience supporting space and satellite programs, technologies, or services
Salary Range: $93,785 - 143,785 CAD
Actual total compensation will be determined at the Company’s discretion and is based on a variety of job-related factors, which may include, but are not limited to, relevant knowledge, skills, experience, performance, and education and/or training.
