Katalyst Description:

At Katalyst, we see human expansion into space not as a distant future, but as a present reality. As this growth accelerates, the need for advanced, reliable spacecraft has never been more critical. We are standing at this forefront specializing in rendezvous and proximity operations creating spacecraft that can reconfigure, refuel, inspect and protect satellites on orbit rapidly, routinely, and regularly. In order to accomplish our mission, we also process data from a network of space-based sensors, both existing and deployable upgrades, using state of the art machine learning and advanced orbital dynamic filtering algorithms to increase space domain awareness, becoming the eyes and ears on orbit.

You might be a great fit for our team if you want to:

  • Accelerate your growth—skip the corporate ladder and forge your own path.
  • Embrace challenges and ambiguity; both failure and success are steps to solutions.
  • Tackle the toughest problems in the space industry and reshape its future, working side by side on a team that’s bought into the mission.

Role Description:

We’re looking for a Talent Manager to build the team who is going to deliver our robotic spacecraft. You will partner closely with the Operations Lead and hiring managers to develop our hiring pipeline, craft job descriptions, source and engage candidates, train hiring managers, and facilitate the candidate experience from outreach to offer. You’ll take ownership of the recruiting process, from how we write roles to how we make decisions. You’ll also run our internship program as a key part of our workforce development strategy, building strong relationships with universities and future candidates while giving interns a clear, structured path into the company.

If you’re excited about scaling and optimizing our recruiting engine, love getting into the details while thinking strategically, and want to help shape the next generation of space professionals, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

Interview Lifecycle

  • Coordinate and manage the full interview process across technical and non-technical roles
  • Work with hiring managers to define role criteria and structure interviews according to role
  • Manage scheduling, communication, and feedback collection
  • Train and support interviewers to ensure consistent evaluation and decision-making
  • Track interview progress and adjust as needed to stay on timeline
  • Manage candidate experience

Pipeline Build

  • Build and maintain sourcing strategies for current and future roles
  • Identify and engage qualified candidates through direct outreach, job boards, and networks
  • Track candidate pipelines and source activity across all roles
  • Maintain a database of prospects for future openings
  • Build long-term relationships with universities, technical programs, and industry groups
  • Coordinate recruiting events and outreach to support visibility and pipeline development

Intern

  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, mentorship pairing, and performance tracking for interns
  • Work with technical and operations teams to design a structured program that supports project work and long-term hiring needs
  • Create clear conversion paths and ensure interns contribute meaningfully to team output

Metrics and Systems

  • Use data to track progress and inform decisions
  • Maintain ATS workflows and recruiting tools (Greenhouse)
  • Share tools, templates, and documentation with hiring teams

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple pipelines and tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to understand the technical requirements for job requisitions, especially in engineering and product roles

Desired:

  • 3+ years of experience in recruiting, people operations, or talent coordination, preferably in a startup or high-growth technology company working with software and/or hardware teams
  • Experience working at a technology company or directly supporting engineering and technical teams
  • Experience building or managing an intern program
  • Experience with ATS platforms and recruiting tools (Greenhouse is current ATS)
  • Strong data tool experience and comfortable with reporting and using metrics to inform decisions
  • Has developed and owned an entire recruiting lifecycle before

Additional Requirements:

Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed. Up to 25% travel.

Compensation and Benefits:

Your base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at Katalyst. You will also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of the Employee Stock Option and Equity Plan, as well as a relocation bonus and other discretionary bonuses. You will also receive access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, and unlimited Paid Time Off.

At Katalyst our work on projects involving the U.S. Department of Defense requires adherence to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), 22 C.F.R. Parts 120-130, which requires compliance with U.S. export laws before allowing employees to perform certain positions. Currently, our available roles necessitate access to ITAR-controlled information, and as a result, Katalyst would have to ensure any non-US person is authorized access to ITAR information before the commencement of employment. We are committed to equal employment opportunities and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin.
