SUMMARY
The Machinist 3 sets up and operates CNC machines to fabricate space and defense parts per engineering specifications and customer supplied drawings. The Machinist 3 sets up jobs and completes tasks with little to no supervision, and maintains machine shop cleanliness and organization. Reports to the Machine Shop Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Sets up and operates CNC machines as directed
Performs various machining and shop duties, which may include the following: loading and unloading raw materials/parts into CNC machine or waterjet machine, deburring parts, inspecting in-process parts, assisting with packaging of finished parts, monitoring shop supplies
Ensures that machined parts meet customer specifications, drawings and STP files
Demonstrates ability to run and dimensionally maintain quality in a production environment
Utilizes blueprint reading skills, shop inspection skills and related inspection tools
Properly utilizes measuring tools and set up tools
Maintains equipment, shop cleanliness, and tooling inventory
Maintains clean machining area, free from scrap/debris
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Required Education: High School Diploma
Required Experience: Typicallypossesses5-10 years of experience, withdemonstratedability to effectively set up andoperateCNC machines, shop related tools and equipment
Preferred experience:Proficiencywith lathe setup and operation (MazakIntegrex, Fanuc controls a plus)
Versatility and experience across multiple machine centers
Strong work ethic, communicationskillsand attention to detail
General mechanical aptitude,dexterityand ability to effectivelyoperateshop tools and equipment,proficiencywith measuring tools and set up tools
Understands G&M code, reads blueprints, troubleshoots production issues, conducts inspections
Physical requirements of this positioninclude:Standing and walking for extended periods of time throughout thework day, occasional use of stairs, andlifting upto 40 pounds
