SUMMARY
As a Senior L&D Specialist, you will serve as a trusted advisor and lead practitioner, owning end-to-end learning experience, driving innovation, and elevating Karman Space & Defense approach to enablement. You’ll collaborate with key business stakeholders, HRBPs, and senior leaders to translate organizational needs into measurable learning outcomes that align with business goals and our values.
A Senior Learning and Development Specialist should be confident presenting one-on-one training, addressing groups and facilitating hands-on training. It is important that the Senior Learning and Development Specialist be self-motivated, understand how adults learn and can write and speak about concepts in a clear, concise way. They should demonstrate above-average attention to detail and pride in his or her work product. The ability to successfully manage time to meet deadlines is vital in this position. The Senior Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for interpreting, understanding, monitoring adherence to, and educating users about firm policies and courses both mandatory and elective.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Own, create, and evolve flagship L&D programs (e.g., onboarding, leadership development, trainer enablement, professional development) with strategic intent, ensuring alignment with company-wide goals and culture.
- Design and deliver comprehensive learning solutions leveraging instructional design best practices, adult learning theory, and a blended learning methodology across modalities (instructor-led, virtual, on-demand).
- Lead cross-functional initiatives by conducting needs assessments, facilitating alignment across stakeholders, and driving execution across regions and teams.
- Measure learning effectiveness and impact, provide recommendations, and implement iterations as needed.
- Mentor and guide junior L&D team members, contributing to team growth through feedback, coaching, and informal leadership.
- Facilitate new hire onboarding, leadership development, and ad hoc training sessions.
- Champion innovation by researching, testing, and scaling new tools, technologies, and frameworks that enhance the learner experience.
- Embed Inclusion principles into learning design and delivery, creating inclusive, accessible, and culturally relevant learning journeys.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, instructional design, or talent development
