SUMMARY
Karman Space & Defense is seeking a self-motivated Multimedia Designer to create engaging 2D/3D graphics, motion graphics, animations, and video that translate complex aerospace and defense concepts into clear, compelling visuals. This role supports both internal and external communications, including social media, websites, investor relations, business development, marketing campaigns, trade shows, and industry events.
The ideal candidate is a creative, detail-oriented designer who works independently, blends digital design with 3D visualization, and consistently delivers high-quality, brand-compliant content. You will follow established brand guidelines and approval processes, help maintain a cohesive visual identity, and contribute to Karman’s overall storytelling and communications strategy.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Create 2D/3D graphics, motion graphics, animations, and videos for internal and external marketing, including digital and print materials/collateral, ensuring all work adheres to brand guidelines, approval processes, and high standards of quality and accuracy.
- Vehicle/Product Design & Storyboarding: Conceptualize and create unique vehicles/products from scratch or modify existing models, and develop storyboards, concept sketches, and style frames to guide motion graphics, animations, and video projects.
- Develop content for social media, website visuals, email campaigns, sponsorships, and digital marketing initiatives with careful attention to detail, clarity, and messaging.
- Support business development, investor relations, and executive communications with high-quality visuals, presentations, and marketing collateral that are accurate, polished, and brand-compliant.
- Design materials for trade shows, conferences, and marketing campaigns, ensuring consistency and quality across all channels, and contribute to the development and maintenance of visual standards and templates.
- On-Site Multimedia Capture: Travel to Karman sites to record video footage and photography for marketing, social media, and presentations, ensuring professional quality and accuracy.
- Translate complex aerospace and defense concepts into clear, visually compelling stories that are both informative and engaging.
- Collaborate with marketing, business development, investor relations, and program teams to deliver aligned creative solutions
- Maintain an organized library of multimedia assets, manage workflow pipelines efficiently, and ensure version control, proper usage, and compliance with approval processes.
- Participate in weekly marketing tag-ups and report on project status, deliverables, content performance, and achievement of established KPIs (reported quarterly).
- Stay current on trends in motion graphics, 3D visualization, vehicle/product design, video storytelling, and digital marketing to continuously elevate creative output
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 3–7 years of experience in multimedia design, motion graphics, or animation, preferably in aerospace, defense, or technology industries.
- Strong portfolio showcasing graphic design, motion graphics, 2D/3D animation, video production, and vehicle concept modeling.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Animate) and 3D software (Cinema 4D, Blender, Maya); experience with Unreal Engine or Unity a plus.
- Experience creating content for social media, websites, digital marketing campaigns
- Ability to make website updates, such as updating homepage videos, graphics, and other multimedia content.
- Knowledge of video editing, compositing, rendering, storytelling, and branding/marketing strategy.
- Experience supporting trade shows, conferences, industry events, and business development communications.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, remote environment.
