About this role:
As a UX research leader, you’ll be responsible for leading researchers (juniors up to seniors), setting up research processes, and ensuring high quality insights and knowledge sharing with other functions. You will pair with other research leaders to surface the most impactful research opportunities and ensure we have a clear user-centred vision, which aligns with our product strategy. You will also help drive the processes and operations of the research team to ensure success. You will be overseeing and be accountable for the research performed by your team, and may conduct hands of research where your capacity allows, helping us take our products and our researchers to the next level.
These are some of the key ingredients to the role:
- In partnership with the Head of UXR and UXR Leads, creating and leading the research strategy, including initiatives that span multiple departments
- Working directly with other design and product leads, as well key business stakeholders, to identify and analyse problems to solve and opportunities to improve our products in ways that will deliver significant user value
- Ensuring a healthy pipeline of mid- and longer-term research projects that will help drive future innovation, and align with research and business objectives
- Working effectively in an agile environment to deliver timely and impactful research to ensure that user requirements are met. Measuring and monitoring design and product quality after releases.
- Communication and stakeholder management - working with senior stakeholders throughout the product development process and managing expectations
- Research Leadership - participate in the design/research leadership community to help drive best practices across the broader design/research community
- Line management - coaching and managing researchers on your team (juniors up to seniors), supporting their professional development and enabling them to deliver impactful research insights.
What will you bring to the table?
- Extensive experience in a senior position, as well as some leadership and people management experience.
- Experience with collaboration with peer UXR leads and head of UXR in optimising research processes and managing the team and research priorities.
- You are inclusive and empathetic in your leadership and research approaches
- Experience partnering with cross-functional teams (Design, Product, Engineering, Business and Data teams)in an agile, global environment preferred
- Significant experience crafting and managing successful research projects using mixed qualitative and quantitative to tackle complex, large scale projects and questions;
- Experience delivering a research vision or strategy which has influenced design decisions and overall UX experience, and/or shaped the roadmap of multiple teams, you have commercial awareness and understands business value of solving user problems
- Experience influencing and managing decision-makers to make user-led decisions, and is comfortable communicating and presenting user insights in front of diverse and large audiences
