All about the role
As the Industrial & Labour Relations Lead, you’ll join our dynamic HR team to help shape and strengthen our labour relations strategy across key European markets—primarily The Netherlands and Germany, with additional focus on Belgium and Spain.
You will serve as a trusted advisor to our HR Business Partners, collaborating closely with works councils, unions, and other social partners to ensure compliance, foster constructive dialogue, and uphold JET’s values. Your expertise will guide leadership in collective bargaining, while helping to develop sustainable employment strategies that drive engagement, fairness, and long-term business success.
Location: Hybrid- 3 days a week from our Amsterdam office & 2 days working from home. Reporting to: Principal Industrial & Labour Relations
These are some of the key ingredients to the role
- Strategic Leadership: Co-develop with the Head of ILR and implement a comprehensive Industrial & Labour Relations strategy, aligned with JET’s global goals and values.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain robust relationships with regional trade unions, works councils, governmental bodies, and other labour-related institutions.
- Advisory Role: Counsel leadership on labour relations issues, collective bargaining, and compliance with local labour laws and regulations.
- Policy Development: Collaborate with the Head of ILR and Legal to influence labour-related policies and regulations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with HR Business Partners and People Insights teams to analyse labour trends, develop metrics, and support the implementation of HR programs that promote positive employee relations.
- Scenario Planning: Identify and prepare for emerging labour relations challenges, developing proactive strategies to address potential issues in a rapidly changing environment.
What will you bring to the table?
- Experience in Industrial & Labour Relations, particularly within the EMEA
- Demonstrated success in managing relationships with unions, works councils, and other employee representation bodies.
- Experience in collective bargaining and navigating complex labour laws is essential.
- A higher education degree in Law, HR or Business Administration, or a related field.
- Ability to translate JET’s global vision into a region-specific strategy that supports business objectives while fostering positive employee relations.
- Comprehensive verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and manage sensitive information effectively.
