ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an IT professional to support, operate, and evolve critical IT systems used in the development and operation of space missions. This role sits at the intersection of enterprise IT, secure infrastructure, and mission-critical environments, requiring high reliability, traceability, and compliance with space and security standards.
You will work closely with engineering, operations, cybersecurity, and program teams to ensure IT services reliably support spacecraft development, ground segment operations, and corporate activities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- IT Infrastructure & Operations:
- Design, deploy, and maintain IT infrastructure supporting space programs (servers, networks, storage, endpoints).
- Administer Windows, Mac and Linux environments in high-availability and controlled settings.
- Operate hybrid infrastructures (on‑premises and cloud, e.g. Azure, AWS).
- Ensure monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and incident response readiness.
- Participate in on-call or mission support rotations when required.
- Systems, Cloud & Workspace Services:
- Manage identity, access, and device management (Azure AD, Intune, MDM).
- Support secure collaboration tools (Microsoft 365, file sharing, conferencing).
- Configure and maintain virtualization platforms and containerized environments where applicable.
- Support secure remote access (VPNs, bastion hosts, jump servers).
- Security & Compliance:
- Apply security-by-design principles to all IT systems.
- Support compliance with standards such as ISO 27001, ITAR/EAR-related controls (where applicable), and internal security policies.
- Assist with vulnerability management, patching, audits, and risk assessments.
- Work closely with cybersecurity teams on incident handling and prevention.
- User & Engineering Support:
- Provide Level 2/3 support for engineers, operations teams, and corporate users.
- Support specialized engineering tools and environments (CAD, simulation, test systems, ground segment software).
- Document procedures, architectures, and operational guides.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of IT service delivery.
- Financial & Procurement Management:
- Budget Oversight: Manage, review, and forecast the IT budget, ensuring alignment with program requirements and corporate financial goals.
- Purchasing Coordination: Manage IT-related purchases (hardware, software licenses, cloud credits) in close collaboration with the procurement team.
- Asset Lifecycle: Track and optimize IT spending by managing the lifecycle of assets and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Strong experience in IT infrastructure administration (Windows Server and Linux).
- Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs).
- Experience with cloud services (Azure or AWS).
- Familiarity with endpoint management and MDM solutions.
- Understanding of ITIL-based service management processes.
- Proven experience working with enterprise ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, Zendesk) for incident and request management.
- 3+ years of experience in IT operations, systems engineering, or infrastructure roles.
- Experience working in regulated or high-reliability environments (space, aerospace, defense, finance, or similar) is a strong advantage.
- Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure in mission‑critical contexts.
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Proactive, structured, and solution-oriented approach.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience in the space or aerospace sector.
- Exposure to ground segment or mission operations environments.
- Automation and scripting skills (Ansible, Terraform, Bash).
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Security certifications or experience with security clearance processes.
- Experience working within an international organization, with the ability to navigate diverse cultures and collaborate effectively across multiple time zones.
