ispace Technologies US, Englewood, CO is looking for a Systems Engineering Manager to join our team.
The Senior Systems Engineering Manager will lead a team of skilled engineers responsible for the development, integration, and delivery of spacecraft systems. This role demands exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to balance technical, programmatic, and strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage a multidisciplinary systems engineering team, fostering collaboration and technical excellence.
- Oversee requirements management, verification and validation activities, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Lead technical reviews, failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), and risk assessments across all lifecycle phases.
- Coordinate the development of spacecraft operational concepts, working closely with Ground Segment, GNC, Avionics, Structure, Propulsion, Software and other teams.
- Ensure efficient resource allocation, task prioritization, and alignment with program schedules and budgets.
- Mentor team members, driving professional growth and knowledge sharing.
- Support business development efforts by contributing to technical proposals and customer engagements.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, we will consider a combination of education and applicable experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in spacecraft systems engineering, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of managing complex spacecraft development programs, with a focus on integration and testing.
- Extensive knowledge of spacecraft design standards (e.g., NASA-STD-5001, NASA-STD-5017).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, we will consider a combination of education and applicable experience.
- Experience with systems engineering tools, including requirements traceability and project management software.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with a focus on team-building and communication.
- Familiarity with startup environments or fast-paced development cycles.
