Position Overview:

Intuitive Machines is seeking a highly motivated and capable Payload Sales Specialist to join our dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Director of Business Development, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving our business growth in providing payload accommodations across our portfolio of space transportation services. This individual will be responsible for cultivating and nurturing relationships with payload and rideshare customers, understanding their unique requirements, developing tailored offerings, and capturing new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Business Development and the IM Business Development team to develop and execute a payload sales strategy aligned with the company's overall growth objectives.
  • Identify and prioritize hosted payload and rideshare markets for expansion, conducting thorough market research and analysis to assess opportunities and risks.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, payload aggregators, and other stakeholders to understand their needs, challenges, and priorities.
  • Develop customized solutions and offerings to meet the specific requirements of payload and rideshare mission clients, leveraging the company's capabilities and expertise in aerospace technology.
  • Lead the negotiation and execution of payload and rideshare business agreements, contracts, and partnerships to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for payload and rideshare clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the business development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including the Senior BD Specialist on bid and proposal management, engineering, operations, finance, and legal, to ensure seamless delivery of products and services to payload and rideshare customers.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory developments in target payload and rideshare markets, providing strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Represent Intuitive Machines at conferences, trade shows, and industry events to promote our brand, showcase our capabilities, and identify potential business opportunities.
  • Track and report key performance metrics, milestones, and accomplishments related to business development and sales activities, providing regular updates to senior management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Space Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or marketing roles within the aerospace or technology industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence decision-makers at all levels.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed to meet with clients, attend meetings, and participate in industry events.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Space Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace business development, sales, or marketing related to payloads and/or rideshare business.
  • Strong understanding of hosted payload and/or rideshare business practices, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze complex market dynamics, identify opportunities, and develop actionable business plans.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets and revenue goals.
