About The Position
This position will be responsible for the integration and assembly of space products pertaining to space flight. The engineer will assemble components including sensors, avionics, structures, wiring, harnesses, and ground elements of our Lunar Lander, Lunar Terrain Vehicle, Hopper, and more.
Responsibilities:
- Hands on Integration and assembly of vehicle components including sensors, avionics, structures, wiring, harnesses, ground elements, etc.
- Support assembly at the subsystem level, such as: Heli coil insert installation, thermal tape application, heater installation, component-level integration onto the next-level assembly, installing, and recording torque values of fasteners
- Assembly of components at the vehicle level, such as: primary structure integration, rigging and lifting of vehicle components, and recording activities on the procedure
General Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related disciplines
- 5-7 years of Assembly and Integration experience
- Knowledge of integration and assembly of hardware, electrical components, harnesses, sensors, etc.
- Previous assembly and integration experience within aerospace, defense, or aviation (nice to have)
- Proficiency with assembly tools, such as torque wrenches, calipers, etc.
- Knowledge of commonly used specifications for materials, processes, fasteners, mechanical components, connectors, wiring, etc.
- Previous experience with computer aided design software (AutoCAD, Creo, SolidWorks) (nice to have)
- Must be able to multitask and work well within a team environment
