ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
This role is responsible for managing the Service Delivery Planning team, which provides pre-sales support to the Sales and Solutions Engineering across all Verticals, for complex Managed and Professional Services.
The Service Delivery Planning interfaces with commercial teams throughout the world to establish Service Implementation Plans in the pre-sales phase, and successfully transition opportunities into implementation. The value provided to the business includes the optimization of individual customer opportunities, with winning technical solutions, credible schedules and budgets, and alignment of internal and external resources, leveraging a cost-effective and scalable service portfolio.
The Manager of the Service Delivery Planning team provides guidance to the team, reviews and approves Implementation Plans for high value and critical deals, and builds alignment with regional commercial leaders. The role requires a strong control of the project pipeline and good forecasting capabilities to support the department’s ability to plan for resources, hardware inventory, and agreements with Service Delivery Partners.
The Manager of the Service Delivery Planning team is accountable for optimizing controllable Cost of Sales for opportunities in the pre-sales phase, by ensuring that existing inventory is leveraged where practical and by enforcing adherence to the partnership strategy established with key Service Delivery Partners.
This role requires intense cross-team collaboration with leaders across the business, Engineering and Operations teams, as well as with external stakeholders. The Manager develops the team, hires the right talent, and creates a culture of forward movement and accountability.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS
- Build and develop a strong team with multi-disciplinary and diverse talent, spread throughout the world for best-in-class pre-sales support to Solutions Engineers and Sales.
- Organize Service Implementation Planning activities for all Managed and Professional Services, with focus put on most complex solutions that require extensive orchestration across Engineering, Operations, and Service Delivery
- Develop relationships with internal customers in the Vertical Markets and Product Management
- Support strategic customer meetings and presentations
- Work with the Field Services organization to develop an ecosystem that matches the needs of SES’ Service Portfolio
- Leverage your excellent understanding of the customer base and market demand to craft optimal plans for complex and strategic deals, optimizing time to revenue and profitability
- Provide actionable reports to partners across the Service Delivery organization and leaders in Vertical Markets to align forecasting and readiness levels, thus effectively supporting critical in-year revenue.
- Maintain up to date knowledge on SES products and industry technology

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- A four-year college degree in Engineering or business
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in Product Management, Program Management or Sales Engineering in the Telecommunications industry
- Good knowledge of the economics and operations of telecommunications networks
- Strong interpersonal skills and culturall awareness.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audience in English
- Proficiency in a second language, preferably Spanish, French, or Portuguese
- Proven ability to work in a cross-functional team environment and retain a positive attitude while simultaneously handling multiple complex projects with demanding schedules
- Experience working in matrixed organization and demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent organizational skills
