Main Roles & Responsibilities:
As a Product Regulatory Compliance Engineer, you will be a part of the team of experts working on the development of advanced User Terminal products. You will own or contribute to the following:
- Review and evaluate new product designs, support engineering changes to existing designs, and evaluate legacy equipment against constantly evolving standards.
- Determine and interpret the relevant regulatory standards for Intellian devices.
- Participate in mechanical and electrical design reviews to ensure EMC/EMI and RF (Ku/Wi-Fi/BT) mitigations are properly implemented in the designs.
- Actively educate the development teams on regulatory requirements and impact of key engineering decisions on compliance; help guide compliant design development and verify compliance through test debug and validation activities.
- Work with internal labs to pre-test and validate Intellian products from a hardware and test software development perspective.
- Evaluate progress of tests for validity of test conditions, means of measurement and performance of components or equipment in relation to specifications or requirements of harmonized standards.
- Work with external labs to interpret the Product regulatory requirements, collect quotations, and finalize the certification testing plan for new products under development.
- Co-ordinate with external labs for pre-scan and certification testing, provide troubleshooting support and work with internal development teams to produce issue resolution as applicable.
- Review and document test results; take corrective action as needed. Analyze component failures; recommend alternate components or design changes.
- Over-see filing of official paperwork and final approval from the proper government or regulatory bodies (FCC/CE/TELEC/WPC) for WLAN, WAN and industry certifications.
- Responsible for determining regulatory artwork for labels as required by certification bodies.
- Stay up to date on any changes to global agency approvals and testing procedures
of modules, subsystems, and User Terminals - Proactive engagement with internal and external customer development teams
- Assist in focusing internal and external engineering efforts across the organization.
- Ensure delivered work meets technical, functional, performance, regulatory and business requirements.
- Support in-field test and validation of various User Terminals
- Assist/Support field issues including travel to customer sites if needed.
- Manage and organize documents library, including specification requirements, design packages, meeting minutes, etc.
- Expect up to 20% of travel depending on the phases of the projects
