Mechanical & Technical Tasks
- Assemble complex electrical and mechanical subsystems for satellite user terminals.
- Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings to plan and execute assembly tasks.
- Conduct self-audits and verify component quality using drawings and checklists.
- Assist in writing and refining manufacturing and operational procedures.
- Operate 3D printers to fabricate mechanical parts and support rapid prototyping.
- Coordinate urgent deliveries or pickups of mechanical parts and PCBAs from local vendors.
- Collaborate with suppliers for CAD-related services and component sourcing.
Lab Management Responsibilities
- Lead daily lab operations, including equipment maintenance, inventory control, and safety compliance.
- Train and supervise lab personnel in proper mechanical assembly techniques and safe equipment use.
- Support the installation, calibration, and performance qualification of full systems.
- Support test equipment calibration with vendors, including managing the logistics of the equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support R&D, prototyping, and product validation efforts.
- Maintain detailed documentation for lab procedures, equipment maintenance, builds, and inspection records.
- Maintain lab consumable supplies, including ordering and stocking/re-stocking.
- Recommend improvements to lab workflows, tooling, and mechanical processes to increase efficiency.
- Maintain and organize all development areas, including the antenna farm on the building roof and parking deck.
- Support the internal team with the logistics and shipment of domestic and international parcels, including packaging as required.
- Manage all lab electrical power needs and maintenance in coordination with vendors.
